my recordings of Pencilgrass and the John Mc Arthy band (with Jordan) from earlier this evening!!

Pencilgrass was as good as always.  high energy!  fun in the afternoon this was the earliest I\'ve ever seen them.  They had trouble keeping it clean enough for the mixed crowd of 5-9 year olds with 45-90 year olds...  it was kinda weird.  How often do you go out and say "I\'m 30 and no one here is my age"  usually I feel so average.

The band Jordan was playing with was very...  uh... talented?  I wasn\'t to impressed, at first...   It was all very good.  well writen songs and all but it wa just so... \'82 hair band.  I mean like all the worst things about white snake and foriener but played by uber skilled players.  say white snake played by rush.

A couple of the jams were really great.  the organ solo in the second or third song was interplanetary!!  Then we got sissy strut and it really started toget interesting.  At this point I thought they were done and started to break down my recording rig.   Boy was I wrong.  They break down to bass and drums.  And the bass player solo\'s with a great effects rig for quite a while (kinda jfjo style).

After that they all started to come back on.  It sounded like they were gonna play one or two at most more songs at that point but I had to break down cause of a fussy 3 year old (some things really are more important)  so I didn\'t get the whole thing but I got the best (and the worst) of it.  I hope to get it out there within a week or so.

Oh Sweet!  I think I talked to you down there?  I asked if you knew of anyone that was recording so I could let everyone else hear it.

Huh...anyways ya that place was a little skeched because there were people from all over town, just not like a group of kids, or people just seeing the band.

I\'m in west haven if you want me to swing by and get a copy I can distro...?
My number:  203 654 1561

Later...
3-4-05:  Inspired, enlightened, surprised, excited, confused, evoked euphoria, focused, newfound faith in music.

was playing moe - 5/28/05 summercamp \'05 dvd, wilco - yankee hotel foxtrot. now playing breakfast - 2/25/05 la cocina; pittsfield, ma

Yankee Foxtrot Hotel is such a badass album- it may leave me feeling a little strange inside, but damn it is just the goodness.  That Pittsfield show is fuckin ser as well.  I missed most of the first set, but was lucky enough to hear the insanity that was Gravity > I\'m The Slime, Attraction To Shade Ditty,
Great Big Fiery Ball In The Sky > Superfly Phaddy Fat* > Gravity in its complete form later on thanks whoever taped.  that shit is HUGE
to play along with the thread:

Not sure what is gonna transpire. Regardless, we ain\'t gonna forget the gravy.

i just got that album a few months ago and its been in heavy rotation because i havent really gotten anything new since. i love the songs and the production of the record. it doesnt really sound like anything else i have. i wasnt really into it at first, but it seems to get better every time i listen to it.

I agree Neil Pert, Geddy Lee monster players or "uber players" (sorry I don\'t know exactly what that means, is it the same as ser?)
I too am not trying to start an argument but I grew up on Rush back in the day......monster players!

Gotta agree - early Rush was awesome. Always felt they lost the plot after Power Windows.

As for me, listening currently to Jorma Kaukonen & David Bromberg at The Chance 1987 - two masters of fingerstyle acoustic playing.

oh wait, so does uber mean good? I missunderstood the context. I thought it was an insult :P

I\'m a diehard rush fan. I own all of their albums, cd and what I could find on vinyl.

Urban Dictionary:  Term with literal meaning of "above" in German. Brought to the mainstream in the early 80\'s by hardcore American punk band, the Dead Kennedys when using the term in the anti-Californian government song "California Uber Alles", which is a take off the German motto of "Deustchland Uber Alles", which translates to "Germany above all." The term was picked up in their native California stomping grounds by the typical surfers and "punks" and extended from there to many teenagers, the majority of which use the term online.
