Fall Tour \'05 Discussion
« on: August 04, 2005, 02:50:25 pm »
Here we are, folks. It\'s August and TB is in the middle of a wicked string of shows. All this talk about fall tour has got us excited, but we need some organization up in hurrrr.

What it comes down to is that we Midwesterners need to get hold of our respective venues, give the owners a heads-up, and somehow get the band in contact with them. Problem is, I don\'t know who to tell the owners to call or email since there isn\'t exactly a permanent agent right now. They could email Tim, but who knows how often he checks it or how much time he has to call people. We need some Northeastern help here...Peck, Fitz, Freddie, Igzi, Gencs, Spacey etc. (if I left you out I didn\'t mean to), whoever sees the guys on a regular basis and knows what\'s going on.

We can also list potential venues/phone numbers/email addresses here so that someone can write it down and hand it to the band. I have a feeling that with enough time beforehand, there could be a ser amount of promotion that will lead to the biggest Midwest tour yet.

Midwest committee roll call: kyndkate, Gordo, shadygroove, bryank, anyone else?

We can also discuss upcoming shows in New England here. Looks like TB already has several decent evenings ready to be booked (as per usual). Fire away!!

I can help out w/ a WI gig.  My bf Chris is in 2 bands and gets all kinds of people booked up here in Madison, WI...we\'d love to have TB come visit WI and maybe another Chicago show for a nice 2-day run for me :)

I\'ve talked to Igzy in the past, but what it would come down to is a press kit, snail mail or electronic, and open dates that they wold be wanting to come through the area.  I know that Chris has his band booked into Oct already and maybe some Nov gigs...the time IS now if they want to make plans out this way.

I was mostly hoping they could play the High Noon Saloon in Madison.
Don\'t shoot the messenger it\'s not his fault...
It\'s just a drag when you\'re the last one to know.

I\'d love to have The Breakfast stop in Saint Louis on their fall tour. I suppose Iowa City and Chicago aren\'t that far (in midwest terms - not sure how you East Coasters classify "close"), but maybe I can put in a good word with a friend who books for a club here.

FWIW, The Schwag is from Missouri and they play every Wednesday here in Saint Louis. They\'ve been around for over 10 years and maintain a mailing list with 6000 names - that\'s a lot of potential new TB fans! They recently purchased some land near Salem, MO (2 hours SW of STL) called Camp Zoe and use it to throw several Schwagstocks every year. I haven\'t been down there yet but it\'s apparently quite a scene. It\'s a really beautiful part of the state and their property has a number of swimming holes, rivers for floating, and nice hiking/camping spots. A lot of my crew are heading down there this weekend for the Euphio Campout but I have to go to a wedding

I can\'t wait for fall tour!  I can certainly say that you will see me within the next few months.  I just got a job offer (Investment Performance Analyst) after depleting my savings for half a year.

Breakfast and family are the only reasons I need a vacation (living in one of the best areas of the U.S. makes each day feel like a vacation) so you can count on Al Z. resurfacing sometime soon.

If I come back for a fall visit and there is no Breakfast scheduled one night, I will single handedly hire T.P. for all of my old friends to enjoy.

I would consider making a trek to the midwest, though I feel my vacation days would probably be better spent on CT shows with all the rage of the hometown crowd.  I\'m still hopeful that the band may actually make it here for a west coast run as well.

Let\'s hope for a great booking agent to help spread the Breakfast to new faces and geographies.

Thanks for the info...can anyone tell me if Alex DeFelice is still the booking agent, or should I give another phone number to the LBC owner?

i guess technically he is. but he has been in the hospital, so i dont think he would want you to contact him. maybe if the phone number is a business line there will be someone there that knows whats going on.

missed this thread, i actually contacted Alex DeFelice a few days ago about helping them book shows at a better venue in Chicago. gave him a list of five with #\'s, he answered quickly and was real appreciative. he said the band is between booking agents (but put himself as part of the equation, NOT as the booking agent to be switched) and said the \'problem\' would be nailed down within a couple weeks. he said they would then book shows for a fall tour and said they really want to get back to the midwest after a great response from 10KL. he forwarded the email to Tim, aka the fucking grassroots manager, and said hed send out posters and flyers for any shows they book in the area.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

Alex DeFelice is the manager, but he gas been filling in bookings until a permanent agent is found.  He can be reached at Alex@HMGRecords.com or AlexD@mindspring.com.

The agency we have been talking to was at 10klf.  Saw the show, was blown away.  Hopefully they will feel they have the resources to do this.

We got a ton of Midwest interst from the 10kfl show.  There will definitely be a tour there.

On behalf on myself and some other regulars, please take the Breakfast away from us. I need to find a real job not work and I need some well awaited rest. Please, take them for a month.
