my book is getting stale, its time to hit the shop. im looking for Epic studio albums from bands that play their instruments. just to kick it off heres a few of mine off the top of my head:

The Slip - From The Gecko
Phish - Rift
The Disco Biscuits - They Missed The Perfume
Perpetual Groove - Sweet Oblivious Antidote
Dead - Blues From Allah
Floyd - Animals
Breakfast - Deuce
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

i dont really even have many jam albums because they dont have much replay value for me. Just like recordings of live shows i might only be able to listen to them 3-4 times. Some that have held my interest are:

Nero - Zedonk
Tortoise - Its All Around You
Phil And Friends - There And Back Again
The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute
Grateful Dead - Wake Of The Flood (actually most of the dead albums are good, but this one is my favorite)

Did Gordo have any solo albums he has been working on the last few months. I believe I heard that Leo Kottke and Gordon were working on a new album?
