There is no catch...I\'m passing out Breakfast samplers. For free. To whoever will take one.

Does there always have to be a catch? :(

If the catch of getting a free sampler is a date with Kate, I don\'t need the sampler, but I\'ll be on my way to Deer Creek within a few hours! ;)

But anyways. I am glad to see so many of you are doing your part in the promo thing, wish I could say the same about myself, but as I don\'t get out much, well it doesn\'t quite work in my favor. . .

kyndkate, there is always a catch. just got to find it. The catch is this, they take a cd they have to promise to listen to it. Email you or join the .info boards or attend a show. Push the WSP fans into the venue. Also, it is mandatory for you to blast the Breakfast in the parking lot, show up early and leave late, it\'s mandatory. ;)

That\'s why I feel that the Breakfast needs to target an audience under 21 to build in the future. It\'s tough to do when there aren\'t too many places to play all ages gigs. of course, this is just MY OPINION.

Gotta get them all in to the Puppet House in August.  At Toads Place I\'m usually on the under 21 side just so I can be right up front.  Anyway, def noticed some new faces on the under 21 side at the Toads show that I havent seen before.

Definitely agree with you 100% delfunk.

I am currently working on a strategy for the Puppet House shows. I will accept any ideas. This show would be ideal to bring any music lover to.

There will be PLENTY of underagers at the PH let\'s not go crazy!  Too many under-21ers will get that shit shut down.  I do not care who goes as long as there isn\'t an OBVIOUS reason for 5-0 to break it up...that place is a free-for-all.  People who went to barn shows and now notice it ain\'t around anymore will know what I mean.

I hate to break this to you. This band needs and can only survive on a younger audience. Pretty soon all of us "hardcores" are going to be wanting to get out "shit" together and the band is going to take a back seat to our lives. Without a younger audience chances of survival are slim. A target audience of 18-21 is important, these are the kids in college and the ones who can devote more time to a band then some of us who have fulltime jobs, a family or other commitments. If you don\'t target a younger audience then the band will be nothing more then a bar/club band.

Besides WALSH, it is an all ages show. So live with it brah.

I already told my brother we would be blaring Breakfast in the lot. Even though this concert is his birthday present from me, I\'m driving, and I\'m going to control the stereo. On the way there and back, he can listen to whatever the hell he wants.

The catch? They have to get on .info and make one post. That one post will include:
1) the fact that I referred them (so we can keep track of where they came from and if they\'re located close to me so I can get them to come to Lafayette).
2) a short review of their sampler.
3) any question they have regarding TB, and we will answer it.

And antbach, I\'m flattered. ;)

If I get out to CT in the fall, I\'ll let any one of you take me out on a date, provided the location is within the bounds of decency (these bounds are societal...NOT .info bounds) ;)

I can\'t pass up a free dinner or booze!

i agree with this statement. you guys should be careful what you say because if you sound like a hardcore fan it will make people want to run in the other direction. i usually just prefer to hand someone my favorite recording and let me music speak for itself.

It\'s tough to win an arguement when you say that this is better then that. It is human nature to defend yourself. There is a better way to approach the whole thing. Another thiing is you want to be able to post Breakfast "fluff" on that board again. If you come with your six shooters out of the gate, people are going to be dicks and non-responsive, just create negative energy and comments.

With that said, good work to all, keep it going.

This is a great point Spaceman.  There\'s no way you can convince people on a band\'s board that some other band is in any way better than theirs.  Especially when it\'s some goofy little unknown band from Connecticut vs. the #1 jamband in the world right now!  Even if the reader knows that some facet of what you are saying is true, such as Adrian is better than their drummer, they don\'t want to hear it anyways.

The thing to do when fluffing The Breakfast on another board is to first position yourself as a fan of the band whose board it is.  Establish some credibility with a few positive posts about the home band.  Then when you bring up the Breakfast just mention that you\'ve been getting into this other good band lately, and offer up some free CDs.  Keep praises for The Breakfast to a minimum and stay away from superlatives.  Just saying "they really rock" and nothing else can actually be very powerful because it leaves an aura of intruige.  Then just send CD\'s to whoever responds.  Even those who don\'t ask for CD\'s will be left with a positive impression of the band because some fan was good en
ough to give away CD\'s.  Kyndkate is on the ball here.

bingo again!!

IMO, gavins post only serves to annoy people. the breakfast have been pimped pretty hard on the moe board and i think people there don\'t feel they need an "introduction"  to the band. sure, we need to get the word out and between igzi, postom, gsphan and myself,  we\'ve been getting info about specific gigs and reviews, along with links to d/l shows but posts like this one and particularly the last one by freddie serve little purpose and ,IMO, maybe hurt the band. i realize that is not gavins (or freddies) intent but thats how i feel.

kate, im psyched about the progress youve made! definitely happy i had a small part in getting these Panic Peeps some Breakfast. that being said, im unhappy with the quality of the cd\'s. EPIC is pretty solid, still pissed though cuz i want to put Queeb on there but this kid who has my Deuce has disappeared! (time to buy a new one) its really just the few segues on em that have those gaps in em, shit! now that there are lots of people getting them i wish i wouldve spent some more time putting together OUTSTANDING samplers (finding a friend with a burner that could remove those gaps), the difference of sound quality and the order of some songs could be better too. i just think i brought some weak sauce to the table here and i hope people arent turned off because of how i compiled these.

not sold out... from what I hear they have barely sold any tickets.... not many people are going to travel to Deer Creek mid-week for only one show.
