That glowstick war during Ghost at IT was the best glowstick war I have ever witnessed. EPIC!

DWD too... but Ghost had those ORANGE floaters that were insane.

There are a bunch of people that help with the festival that get all dressed up in costumes...I took a picture on my phone of a guy with a 25-ft tall tree suit on. I think he covered every inch of the lawn, it was hilarious.

done!....should have thought of it myself. thanks!!!

alright folks.....jeff gittleman and seanaldo miller at my house 7/24 around noon. this will be a pre-game to the big summer classic show at yale field in west haven. i\'ll have burgers and dogs plus (vegans....um...cover yourselves ;) )...... i\'m counting on walsh to come through with his specialties. anyone who wants to bring a dish, dessert or appetizer....please feel free. THE POOL IS OPEN!!!! if everyone who wants to come will challenge timmy (prior to) to a game of virtual baseball, i can ALMOST guarantee he\'ll attend. tell him you\'ll play him for money and he won\'t be able to resist. then when i win it all back from him, i\'ll turn it over to the musicians. swimming, billiards, horseshoes, volleyball, foosball and hula hooping (we are going to SCI for christ sake) should be available. i hope many of you will join me both at my house and at the show as well. i love UM, really like yonder, want to see keller bad (i never have) think franti is great energy and want to see new monsoon also. honestly.....i want to see SCI also....i never have. it should be a great day. the show is at 400 i think, so noon until then should be a nice little primer with some great music from great friends. this is a family friendly event (my house) so feel free to bring the kids. as we get closer i\'ll post a roll call for food drink puposes and we\'ll take it from there. hope to see any and all of you there.

cancelled!!!!    i\'ll figure something else out.

I think I am passing on this whole thing. I hate last minute changes. I hung a lot of poster and gave out a lot of flyers for the fucking thing to be changed.

you\'re totally right... i figure that lots more heads would have shown up had it been in west haven vs. danbury... its such short notice at this point, people closer to danbury probably wont even find out about it....

... why did they have to change the venue, anyway? poor ticket sales perhaps??

because it is a bunch of bands that never make there way out here during a regular tour and they expect to throw a festival. This is Phish country and it will stay like that for a few more years. That is the same reason why Bonnaroo NE was cancelled. New England has the most people in one area and we all have similiar feelings that when Phish ended, the big festivals did too. Bonnaroo survives because it is in the middle of nowhere and it attracts such big names.

the venue change is bad news. i would rather go to great woods on saturday than to danbury on sunday. so much for duane\'s get together at his place... unless everyone wants to show up at like 8am if they are going to danbury.

Gotta agree with Mama on this one...

I like YMSB, and UM from what little I know of them... the rest of the bands... meh. Def. don\'t like Keller and when he tries to sound like a trumpet I feel like killing myself, and I used to like SCI but I think they made a big mistake in straying away from the bluegrass... I think they are downright... cheesy now, and not in a good way. I have a real issue with Spearhead because of the way Franti preaches (shut up!) and also because every show I have seen has beern exactly the same.

That said, no Summer Classic for me.

Besides, I\'m on Color and Talea tour.

i like keller shows a lot more when he a) doesnt loop shit (seen it twice and it\'s a lot more entertaining and upbeat b) has friends to play with him.. tends to be a show full of covers that he throws a nice twist on. i think keller is talented and one of a kind, and his mouth trumpet aint so bad at the right time.

franti and spearhead -- got my first taste of them at HSMF and i had a great time. however, i think a second time around would be boring as hell b/c ive heard that his shows are always exactly the same, like jocelyn said. he also needs to take it easy on the "How You Feeeeeeeelin\'"  he mustve asked about, i dunno, 70-80 times in an hour and a half.

YMSB is always fun. good musicians, fast-fast pace, solid bluegrass vocals, pull the crowd into the show. basically a total package when youre talkin bluegrass.

UM is damn good, but good luck trying to hold a dance groove. LOTS of changes but they do have the potential to draw a sick jam out at any given show. pretty solid song writing too, cant really stand Brendan Bayliss\'s voice after awhile though. whiney bitch. they also nail covers extremely well. very good band, but they got NOTHING on TB.  ;)
