Heard a rumor that each drum/percussion instrument will have a mic on it. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

It will be one hell of a recording fo\' sure.

while I\'m not doing audio, from past expierence and conversations with adrian and vallo, don\'t count on it. It would sound horrible that way - way too muddy. Drums are so loud that you get whats called bleeding (when one instrument can be heard in the background of another track, like the guitar really quiet on the vocal track). thats why drums are always behind walls or in another room during studio sessions. It would be pointless to mic everything.

More likely, the mic setup will be a bunch of overheads that are catching everything, and then the important things having mics, like bass drums, snares, djembe\'s, ect. everthing else will probably be groups (like all toms getting 1 mic) or just the overheads. Don\'t worry though, it will still sound sick!

Did I hear that there is a huge drum circle in the lot before the show? That we can all bring drums to the show? We are all allowed to play our drums at the show, create a real tribal emotion.

Walsh- Bring that talking drum!

^^^That would be DOPE if we could get a very big drum circle going b4hand.  I want to find out if that is true?  I have Two nice djembes and the talking drum...this could get cool...not that it wouldn\'t be anyway.

WALSH - I said it and I mean it. How can we not have a drum circle before hand? I am planning on making a drum of sorts. I think everyone coming should show up with a few beers and we can have an awesome drum circle before we go in and then go in and see what Animal has planned. We could see if we can\'t get a tribal drum circle inside going as the show ends.

 true, I thought we owned the place. I have come to the realization that if you walk around like you own the place most people won\'t say anything.

either way, pre show drum circle?
