been wanting to see this movie for a long time, and finally got around to watching it last night.

wow.

incredibly moving. i was teary-eyed in a lot of places, and lisa cried through almost the whole thing. amazing performances by both Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer. add to that an all-Beatles (albeit covers) soundtrack, and it made for a great 2+ hours on a monday night.

if you haven\'t seen it, see it. trust me.

9/10

A mentally retarded and autistic man (Sean Penn) fights for custody of his 7-year-old daughter, and in the process teaches his cold-hearted lawyer (Michelle Pfeiffer) the value of love and family.

gotta agree with ya Peck.  That little girl Dakota... don\'t know her last name, was also amazing in it.  She also does a knock out job in Man on Fire.

I recall your DVD collection as being quite enormous.

I tell ya....it bothers me, when you say you havent seen this movie or that movie and someone will gasp in horror like you are some sort of fool that doesn\'t know anything about anything...  I just tell them "all good things in all good time", and pull out some sick movie that they probably havent seen and say, "oh no...you havent seen Dr. Strangelove, well you are a stupid fool who knows nothing" then I laugh and ask them if they like how it feels.....

because there is no feeling in the world that can quite compare to watching a truly amazing movie for the very first time......that is why when I really love a movie, i usually say that, "I wish I could watch this one again...for the first time"
