Well I would have rather had Young Lust, Any Colour..., Have A Cigar, Comfortably Numb
Yeah I know the songs they played are their best sellers but sheesh, at least play them w/ some freakin\' conviction.

Well figures you would think they were dead on. As for the biggest thing in music in the past 20 years, hmm I think the emergence of Phish may be a bit bigger @ least in the music scene I\'m interested in.

1 thing yo uneed to realize is that roger waters likes live performances to be as "album version"as possible.
another thing you need to realize is that your a horses ass.
reemergence of phish bigger than the reemergence of pink floyd??
im gonna go ahead and bite my tongue...

Yeah but see YOUR choices do not make sense in the time that was allotted them mine does.
Now sit down for some schoolin\' Wah.

The thing is Wah you are just wrong again. Anytime you attempt to throw down knowledge non Breakfast related you show your lack of said knowledge. David G. is the one that likes the songs to be "album perfect". I have seen the David led PF 3 times and each time blew compared to the 2 times I saw a solo Roger Waters show.
PF show=laser show w/ an actual band playing.
Roger Water Solo= OMG psychedelic as hell w/ stretched out jams and a WAAAAY better setlist than PF were playing.

Now let\'s see. The reemergence of 4 middle aged brits who had their day and played a tepid 4 songs or the Emergence of Phish 4 dudes from Vt. that shook an entire scene upside down and showed the world that fests could be done. Sorry Wah but it has been admitted by the Bonnaroo folks and others that throw large festies that they would not exist if PHISH HAD NOT PROVED IT COULD BE DONE ON A REGULAR BASIS.

I\'m sorry, but nothing Phish has ever done has ever affected a fraction of the # of people that Floyd has, and chances are more people watched that 4 song set last night then the total # of people that give a rats ass about what Phish did.    Now, I\'m sure that there are things that happened in music in the past 20 years that were bigger than last night, but it surely didn\'t come from 4 geeks from VT.

PF had their day and them getting together for 4 songs was cool but why was it cool? Because it was hyped to no end. They played 4 songs everyone knows and played them as shitty as they played them in \'94 they just happened to have the original bass player(who played great actually). So how was this significant other than for all the "kidz" who nvr saw them? oh yeah it WAS PINK FLOYD ooooooooooooooo. pffft. When was the last new song written by them?

Pink Floyd is one of those bands that totally revolutionized the music scene back in the`70s. The bad feelings they Waters and Gilmoure had for each other in the 80s, I think even their biggest fans expected pigs to fly (no pun intended) before they played on stage together again.  To think that Gilmoure Mason and Wright havent played together since `94, and Pink Floyd havent played together since the early `80s, and the fact that they are pretty old, they sounded great.
This isn\'t who it would be if it wasn\'t who it is.

So if Phish reunites 20 years from now, do you think anyone will give a rats ass?

Well it\'s all about the big picture. As i posted before the folk in charge of Bonnaroo have said w/o Phish proving this type of thing can be done there would be no Bonnaroo. Bonnaroo has been labeled as one of the largest significant cultural music events in HISTORY. It has brought our "jamband" scene to light in the mainstream and due to this the small bands like say The Breakfast will have an easier time getting seen by alot more people. As PF was revolutionary in the 70\'s Phish was in the 90\'s. They just made their impact felt differently.
As for Phish reunion in 20 yrs. I\'ll watch for sure. PF WAS a great band but what I saw was not PINK FLOYD but Pink Floyd.

Neither was Phish PHISH when they got back together on Jan. 1, 03, and that was only after 2 years, not 20.

Pink Floyd is just one of those bands, that when they were in their prime, affected more than a particular culture, but affected the entire music culture.  Dark Side of the Moon was on the Billboard Charts for what...like 15 years or something like that.  Anyone who was around in the 70\'s owns Dark Side of the Moon, not to mention many music fans who werent alive in the 70\'s.  Nothing against Phish, but anything they ever do will not have as wide and diverse  impact as Pink Floyd.  Not that theres anything wrong with that, Phish is awesome.  I just think Pink Floyds music appealed to so many more heads than Phish.  But they are 2 completely different things, PF and PH is like apples and oranges.
This isn\'t who it would be if it wasn\'t who it is.
