what about the fairfield inn in bridgeport? is that very far from the UAC?

maybe i\'m misinterpreting your inquiry but am i mistaken in thinking you\'ve already stayed at the Fairfield Inn?  i remember....well, i won\'t go into it.  but it sounded to me like you guys raged there one night.  no?

but to answer your question, the fairfield inn is probably the best bet as far as hotels go.   not too ghetto and fairly close to the show. i\'d say it\'s about 3-4 miles and it\'s pretty much on the same road as UAC.

freddie thats wrong.  i will never forgive a certain couple who skipped out on my wedding for a PHISH show!
(AHEM... you know who you are!  ;) )
you will just have to miss cake-cutting and be a lil late for this show, IMO.

I agree.  That\'s a tough one.

Out of curiosity, which show did your (ex)friends choose to go to instead of your wedding?

For years and years I\'d hoped that someday I\'d have a phish/trey birthday show.   When Trey in Albany on 5/15/99 was announced, I celebrated at first glance but was quickly reminded by phoxman that my good friend Brian Dolzani (who happens to be one of the opening acts at UAC on SAT) had long since planned his wedding for that day.  So I skipped the Albany show and went to the wedding.  I\'ve heard the recording from Albany and it sounds like it was a solid show.  But there is no doubt in my mind that I made the right choice by going to the wedding.  One of the best nights of my life hands down.

Hey Dave I think you made the right choice.
Phish broke up and your friends are still married right? So what\'s the fuss?

that was the knick in albany. and i have some funny stories about that show.  ask me about them someday in person and i\'ll gladly share.  they aren\'t message board material.

and re: phish and weddings...

my good friend jeff aka phoxman was my partner in crime at shows for a few years when we lived in Boulder.  and then a few more years when we moved back to CT in 97.

anyways, he got married in fall 98 and that all changed.  so on his wedding day morning, i was put in charge of waiting in line for phish tix to go onsale for the new haven coliseum. this was before the era of buying tix online or via cell phone.

i showed up at the local video store at 8:30am that morning with a suit and tie on which obviously stuck out like a sore thumb, but after i surveyed the situation i was confident i\'d walk away with at least fairly decent seats since i was third in line.

long story short, i got the tix and the seats were good.   but even though i was third in line, it took me hours to finally walk away with tix in hand and i didn\'t realize it until later but i missed jeff\'s ceremony.

still to this day, he claims he doesn\'t hold it against me.  but his wife...not so much.

and i can\'t say i blame her.   if i was given a time machine and told i could use it five times to go anywhere anytime, one of my first choices would definitely be to go back to 98 and be there for their wedding.

my two cents....
