is it just going to be our opinion on songs performed at their best, or are we going to be voting based on specific performances on a given night?

The language will be: "Choose the song that you like better."  It\'s that simple.  We discussed other ways to word it but figured that everyone would probably end up voting for the song that they like better anyways.

are we betting on this, or is it just for fun?

It\'s for fun.  Although I may put out some lines for fun, I will not be taking action because people with monetary interests may try to influence votes.  This is not in the spirit of the tourney.  We are trying to determine what the favorite songs are.

Can I just fill out a sheet at the begining, and not vote if I\'m not around?

No, because each round you will pick between the matched up winners of the previous round.  If you did the whole sheet in advance, you would not have the right matchups.  Each round will last one week.

Paul at PT did this and it is fun as hell every year, I am in.

I wish people could be counted on to vote strictly on a songs performances this year, that would be a cooler outcome.  Watch out for GBFBITS!!!

A couple deep breathes and a few votes over the week and you should be able to get through it. Good Luck.

There\'s only a couple of close battles right now (notably Garcian vs. Question Mark), but as the rounds progress the matchups will get tighter and tighter.  We need a tiebreaking procedure in place before a tie happens!

Tiebreaking procedure suggestions:

1. Have Tim play each tune at his first solo show after the tie occurs, and have the people there vote on which song sounds better solo acoustic.
1a. If the crowd at the show is still tied, one person from each side will compete in a Guinness half-yard chugging contest.

2.  Four people voting from each song play in a poker game at pokerstars.com  Winning player sees his/her song advance.

3. Have everyone involved meet up for a game of bombardment, one song\'s team vs. another.

4. The winning song is the one with more combined posts among its voters.

5. Somebody dig up Teddy Torres and have him decide.

6. Each side must solicit funds from the voters.  The side that collects more money wins.  All proceeds go to the Save-The-Breakfast fund, less 20% that goes to support .info
