I was attracted to them because of the Zappa covers.  They need to take advantage of GOOD covers, not songs from kids movies (ie Born to be Wild)...

easy rider was a kids movie?

no....and i think what curephan is referring to is the fact that born to be wild is one giganticly comercialized song, used in all movies, tv shows, commericals, muzak, etc, etc....  however, when steppenwolf wrote it, i am sure they were not thinking, "lets write a kids movie theme tune"...they were probably thinking, "lets write a tune that makes girls panties wet and then lets do blow off of their asses all night long while sucking down a bottle of jack daniels"....born to be wild released in 1968 defined rock and roll.....

I thought all the covers were done exceptionally.  ramble on rose is definately the best dead cover they have done to date.  sympathy was rocking too, but i was looking for a dead flowers with the whole.

curephan, have you seen the breakfast cover request thread?  its got a ton of songs that we all want to see the band do.  we all have tunes we would love to see them play... make a banner.... see what happens....

Well making it this far in the thread all I can tell is Curephan has his head up his ass and Freddie is SLIPPIN\' bigtime.
Breakfast covering GD is SER esp. since they don\'t overdo it. Plus how you gonna NOT cover the Grandfathers of the scene when they have so many songs that Rock? I mean no matter what their name is now this is still PB and GD is as P as it gets.

Completely ridiculous. ROR was one of my highlight moments of the night. I was up front taking pics and all around me I could hear the voices of 1000 people (seeing double) transcending the voice of Jerry. 1. with a special guest= all about hearing a good Dead tune. 2. never played and probably never again= once in a life time. I too never got to see the Grateful Dead, but they are what tuned me into the scene. And when I close my eyes and surrender to the Phlow it\'s a nice energy builder.

THE CURE SUCKS and phish needs to sit on the back shelf like a fine wine.

They are due to play a Phish tune, and I think they should.

ramble on rose was great. one of the reasons is, that sean does grateful dead stuff very well, so it would make perfect sense if you were going to have a special guest such as sean, that you might choose to cover a dead tune. it\'s not like they\'ve been home and practicing with sean, so they picked something out and fuckin\' nailed it. end of story. they should and will cover whatever they want. (but i do agree with freddies choice.....OMFG)

I can\'t even think of a cure song that would work with the breakfast. Love song maybe? I don\'t even think that.
