My last show was last week, and they played Help > Slip which was totally sweet.  Personally I love the fact that they don\'t go into Franklin\'s -- that song annoys me.  Yes I know, I should be shot.  I just don\'t like Franklins!!  The fact that PB does help > slip and then into one of their own tunes is money.

I agree with you on that one. I actually enjoy Help>Slip covers just because its the Dead\'s progressive anthem, so I dont mind when TB plays it.  And I cant stand Franklins, too fucking hippy dippie for me.  I just wish that TB would only cover Help>slip as far as Dead covers go... The rest are BAD BAD BAD. There are already a gazillion Dead cover bands, TB is way better than that, more original than that. Don\'t fall victim to the flow!!!

Living in Vermont has lessened my love for the Dead drastically.  I thought I would find Phish heads up here, boy was I wrong.  Dead this, dead that....  sssighhhh

Or I\'ll dig TB covering Lost Sailor>Saint any day of the year..

gd covers take away IMO the originality of the band.  There are thousands of uncoverd songs that rock a lot, I\'m just saying that it seems TB are just beating them into the ground when they could be covering sooo many other kick ass songs.  They have the ability to expose listeners to new and better music.  So why not take advantage of it??

I heartily recommend
Nektar\'s "A Tab in the Ocean"
Peter Gabriel\'s"Morbound the Burgermeister"!!

Joe, ill say it again, Scarlet Begonias at Lafayette was the best cover by any band ever. BAD BAD BAD? you cant be fucking ser.

oh yeah, joe, after this weekend ive realized that i would be more than happy to show up at a Breakfast show if i knew i was gonna get the shit kicked out of me. id take a beating if i was in the venue and could hear the music. you have no excuses. none.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

joe,if they can play a gd tune, and get the crowd into it a little more,
why the fuck are they gonna play Nektar\'s "A Tab in the Ocean"
Peter Gabriel\'s"Morbound the Burgermeister" that nobody, including the band knows, except you?

I\'m sure Tim knows those songs....  When a band does that (ie gd covers for the sake of getting the crowd moving) they\'re whoring themselves and losing artistic originality.  If they need to get a crowd moving Drunk Monk Bar>Buquebus>Drunk Monk Bar>Echidnas Arf>Drunk Monk Bar>Son of Simpleton>Drunk Monk Bar
