Jesus, this thread was certainly hijacked to holy hell...

As for treking out here for TB, I find it funny that some of you hardcore fans wouldn\'t put effort into coming out here (leith, boombox excluded).  I\'m actually going to make it a co-bill, possibly with RAQ just because you all sound so deathly paranoid that TB won\'t draw a crowd.    Who care\'s if its in Vermont?  Phish is dead. No longer a band (for 5 years that is), that should have ABSOLUTELY not effect on the breakfast.  If they can\'t fill Nectar\'s only two parties are to blame.
1. Nectar\'s for failing to properly promote
2.The Breakfast for failing to promote the show

From what I know Burlington heads LOVE The Breakfast and PLUS, the last Nectar\'s gig was on 4/20.... So unless you plan on booking a UVM 4/20 fest, fuggedaboutit, snug as a bug, in bed with dreads BRAH

so you actually went to the Nectar\'s gig this time?  I find it funny that you bring up the hardcore fans, but if I remember correctly, you didn\'t even go the time previous to the 4/20 show.  I know princesscaspian and a few others made the trek up on 4/20, so there were a few \'hardcores\' in the ranks.  I myself just can\'t afford to go all the way up to Burlington on a weekday night, like most people probably.  Book \'em on a Saturday, so I can make a weekend out of it, and then we\'ll talk.  I do get my share though, so 1 show in VT usually doesn\'t matter much to me.  I don\'t think the band should be dependent on the some 20 or so people that go to every show possible to get a room filled though, call me crazy, but we can only do so much.

I agree with you, however I thought  there would be more of a positive reaction to this thread topic, but once again the negative energy and cynicism of this board ceases to amaze me.

I didn\'t go to the 4/20 show, I had to work and also do massive amounts of homework.  I graduate in 3 weeks so I\'ve been working my ass off, no time for anything at all.  Kudos to those who DID make the trek up here.  Vermont is a great state with a great market, regardless of people\'s impressions or the number of pot shots it will get in posts to come.  If the people on this board don\'t want TB to play this show I can just notify the owner that the band isn\'t interested.  I find no reason for the negative cynicism...

No, please book it.  I\'ll be the first one to sign up if you do.  I\'m sure most New England fans will be all about it.  No disrespect, but it just seems a little far fetched to me.  Hell, I\'d love to get them booked at the Paradise in Boston, but its just not their time yet.  Soon enough, I hope.  I mean, look at Terry\'s party for a prime example.  It was in their homestate(granted the show went basically unpromoted because of the logistics of it), but it was a big money losing affair for the ones who tried to get it together.  A great time nonetheless though.

If I were in charge of booking, I\'d work on getting a run of shows or a tour together w/ one or more of the bands that are currently in the Breakfast\'s position right now.  Bands like Raq, Brothers Past, or Perpetual Groove are all out there putting on some of the best shows that the \'scene\' has to offer, but none have gotten over the hump yet.  If they booked a tour w/ one or two of those bands and pushed for venues the next size up (The Rock Club circuit so to speak), and do a full nationwide tour while rotating the headliners or what have you, it could be a great way for all the bands to reach a larger audience, so they could play these venues again in the future on their own merits.  Call me crazy, but I think it could work.  Hell, I got all sorts of great ideas that rummage through my head all day long.  They should hire me to be their \'hype man\' or whatever;)

Yeah I USED to have tons of ideas. Jesus christ I would go off on Tim and Josh, I must\'ve sounded like a fucking nut case. Delusions of grandiose.  Brothers Past has played this venue before and has brought a kick ass crowd, SO that sounds  a lot better.  I agree with you that the bands you listed above are getting shafted in terms of venues, crowds etc...  Time for another HORDE??? jk

But seriously I guess I would be in charge of promoting this baby if it happened, so I\'m up for as many suggestions as possible.  If anything, and I hate to say it, I think a lot of these bands would get what they deserved by booking after parties for larger bands, which they\'ve done in the past, I just think it needs to be done more often.
