Wolfman, I\'ll agree that AROD is a class A choke artist and that his impressive season numbers came at meaningless times, but the rest of your argument is laughable.

How can you translate one of the most decorated teams in baseball history into your claims of underachievement?  Especially coming from a fan of one of the longest standing jokes in MLB history?

Yankee fans come back every year knowing they will make a serious run @ a championship.  Red Sox fans while impressive in their loyalty are the lovable losers of professional sports.  Every spring they puff their chests in undying loyalty to a team that has burned them SO MANY TIMES.  I love watching the downward spiral every year.  It begins somewhere around August and always (except once in almost 90 years) ends in a picture perfect sweep, or maybe a ball trickling through someones feet, and deflating those chests and any dreams of a winter in which you can hold your chin up and be proud.

So you hold onto that 2004 Red Sox DVD, I only hope that the technology required to play that disk will not have gone the way of Betamax the next time your Sox win a championship.

3 games in 3 days and the Angels are up 1 in the ALCS. Great effort by Byrd and the Bullpen took care of business as usual. Chisux did not take advantage of men on base and the Angels made sure to not make careless mistakes. They lose Colon but Washburn will be ready for tomorrow. Take 2 in Chicago? I hope so. GO ANGELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sox played like shit tonight. shot themselves down over and over. angels made no mistakes. thats why they won. this is going to be a great series with two nasty pitching staffs leading their teams to low-scoring, 1-run victories. sox better win tomorrow, otherwise a sweep is definitely in order.

Screw the east coast and it\'s bias. Fox opened it\'s broadcast w/ "The big boys are gone" Pfft. One of the most storied teams in Baseball history is still in it(St. Louis)  One of the best pitchers ever is still in it(Clemens) That "other"Chicago curse is still in effect and The Angels are just fun to watch. East Coast Media and those that eat it up= bunch of fucking idiots.

Leith, you can\'t deny that the Boston New York rivalery has been a consistent savior of MLB ratings.

I went to a few Houston games this year... people just don\'t show up at games until a playoff spot is definite.

How many strait games has boston sold out?

people are straight up band wagon fans out west.

I heard a funny thing on the radio the other day, I think it was Dan Shaunessey or maybe he was relating something he heard someone else say... but anyhow... It was that "the rich fans in Boston stay longer than the rich fans in New York." :lol:
