Breakfast on Rocks Off Boat?
« on: March 31, 2005, 01:01:34 pm »
This has to happen these things are FUN!  For those that haven\'t been on one, they have two boats one larger than the other and they go out in to the NY Harbor and towards the Statue of Liberty.  They usually last 3 to 4 hours and can start anywhere from 8 to Midnight(heady).  Full bar and this year they are haveing food on there too.  THIS HAS TO HAPPEN!!!
Too fat for a tandem bike, and too drunk for a Mountain Bike...taste the fear.

How do we make this happen? Can we tell the promoters to pick up the band? I am game for this!

Right on Walsh.  I went on 3 of these last summer (Umphrey\'s, KDTU, and Amon Tobin) and all were absolutely sick.  The boat leaves the west side at 42nd street, cruises south around the island then up the east side, then comes back down again and buzzes the statue.  The shows were all super nasty, and you can go out on the deck and puff your smokable plant of choice.  I dunno about full bar, they just stock some well liquors and Bud served in little plastic cups.  But a Breakfast show would be awesome.  I think the small boat fits 350, so if they can sell out Knitting Factory or Lion\'s Den then come sail away.  In the meantime, I definitely recommend checking out some of their other shows.

I think one of the rocks off guys is named Jake. He used to book Wetlands and the Knitting Factory. I know that he likes The Breakfast. He was doing the Knitting Factory 3 years ago, when The Breakfast played for like 3 and 1/2 hours in the basement and I made him come listen to Buquebus. He liked them.

whineberg- check out the fancy edit options dave hooked up
pulling this off shouldn\'t be difficult if bands like The Bomb Squad and Tea Leaf Green have had thier share of performances on murky NY water.. might just have to investigate..
Not sure what is gonna transpire. Regardless, we ain\'t gonna forget the gravy.

great idea; but unfortunately I have some serious issues with sea-sickness, and I felt the 100.7 degree fever I have right now spike up a bit just thinkin about it.
