I\'m going to somewhat agree with dave. I\'m open was cool just because I never thought I\'d hear it live. It would have been better if someone was singing the "I\'m open" part and eddie did the spoken word poetry. The song without the poem on top is pretty borring. It got props simply because it was so darm obscure. Garden was cool at the begining with all those heavy chords. I had no idea what song it was for a while. Also, I never heard it live. Once I hear the rest of the tour I might think it sucks in compairison, but for now, that was cool to hear. I would have loved an immortality but I\'ll settle for slight of hand any day. The lyrics in that song give me shivers when I think about them. Not many bands can do that.

I hope we get to hear big wave sometime this tour. Does anyone else think this sounds like an old police song at the end or is it just me?  Christine is still waiting on parachutes. Inside job was worth it just because mike was playing the double neck 18 string SG a-la\' Jimmy Page or Alex Lifeson. That song kicks your ass!

pitchy - what\'d ya think?

Overall, a great concert as one of my favorite bands performed with the ferocity I expect. I got a little slopped up as I realized I was standing on the edge of a mud battle royale during Even Flow. But we relocated and kept the mucking to a minimum.

Pearl Jam played several songs I wanted to hear. From the new album, I was glad to get Severed Hand, Life Wasted, Worldwide Suicide, Inside Job, and especially, Comatose.

Old school-wise, Dissident, Rearviewmirror, Hail Hail, Go, Why Go, I Got Shit/Id, and even Garden were my favorites, the latter two mostly because I had never seen them prior to this, my sixth show.

But I do have a few complaints, not the least of which was the four-song first encore, which is hardly par for Pearl Jam’s course.

And speaking of which, the crowd was too tame between encores and I felt the band wasn\'t even really cheered back on stage. Although that\'s likely the result of knowing you\'re gonna get an encore and realizing that a full effort isn\'t required, I still had higher expectations. I figured the crowd would be going bonkers at the band\'s first CT show in nearly eight years, and for the most part, I felt they were timid and lame, more drunk than actually interested in the band.

Musically, I can’t fault anything. I mostly focused on McCready and Cameron and was thoroughly impressed.

But one person with whom I was not impressed was Ed. He didn’t forget lyrics and I could see the emotions in his face as he sang, but he was also highly wasted and had one of his worst-ever nights for banter, which does count for me as far as connecting the band with fans. Ed’s speeches were often incoherent and his decision to lay out his highly generalized and vague political ramblings sure came at and odd time before the final verse of RITFW. If you want discuss potential solutions to real problems between songs, let\'s do it. But to just say, "We have to keep American free," is weak. I mean, how Ed, how? Tell us how we can keep America free while 25,000 lunatics are waiting for you to get to the chorus.

Sure I’m a spoiled Pearl Jam fan. I have exceedingly high expectations for their performances and I\'m let down when they\'re not met. It\'s one thing if they play a setlist that I\'m not into. But that wasn\'t the case Saturday, which makes the show\'s average result all the more befuddling, and ultimately, disappointing.

Quote from: Pearl Jam 05/25/06 - TD BankNorth Garden; Boston, MA
Soundcheck: Rats, Deep (reworked but not finished), Leash, Masters of War, Forever Young (Bob Dylan)

Set: Release, Severed Hand, Worldwide Suicide, Corduroy, Animal, Red Mosquito, Love Boat Captain, Betterman, Unemployable, Even Flow, Sad, Wishlist, Gone, Green Disease, Down, Jeremy, Life Wasted, Why Go

Encore 1: Forever Young (Ed & Jeff), Masters of War, Crazy Mary, Inside Job, Alive

Encore 2: Spin The Black Circle, Do The Evolution, Whipping, Rats, Comatose, Rockin\' In The Free World

awesome show last night! SO much better than the hartford show, though i\'m not sure if i can put it up past the albany show. ed recalled at one point the \'play every song\' theme of the 3 tweeter shows in 2003, and said that they were gonna try to cram as much as they could into these 2 nights in boston..

got to see a bunch of songs i haven\'t seen yet this tour, including 2 Riot Act songs (which have been scarce this tour). i was kind of upset to hear that the new LBC vocal arrangement (as played in \'05) is apparently here to stay. i really like the original better (referring to the \'constant recoil...\' section). same goes for the \'05 vocal arrangement of Crazy Mary (the \'one night, the thunder cracked...\' section), but i digress..

the jam at the end of Betterman was really good, but i\'m really hoping i get to see a \'Save It For Later\' this tour.. thought it was coming last night, but it didn\'t happen. was psyched to hear Sad again. Wishlist had no outro; just ended after the lyrics \'and never let you down\'. Down =:thumbsup:. weird placement for Life Wasted i thought, but whatever. also feels weird to have seen Why Go at all 3 shows i\'ve seen so far this tour, but they\'re playing the balls out of it, so it\'s not all that surprising.

first encore was almost too mellow, but still good. Forever Young and Masters Of War were played for Dylan\'s 65th birthday. first MoW of the tour.. once again, no guitar solo to close out Crazy Mary, just organ. the green lasers were back out for Inside Job, which i find very fitting, because the song sounds like it could be on Pink Floyd\'s Animals.

encore 2 was awesome! completely rocking. Whipping was my highlight of the night, even though ed messed up the lyrics.. i\'ve just been dying to hear it.. good to see Rats back in rotation, though it somewhat takes away from the albany bust-out. we made our way out during RITFW, since i knew it\'d be the last song, and that\'s when the night started to take a turn for the worse.

ok, first off, it\'s fucking $23 to park in the garage underneath the garden! $23!!!! but whatever, i\'m over it. we got there plenty early and got a *sweet* pull-out spot right near an exit. we were out of the garage really quick, and officially on the road at 11:30. 93S, check. 90W, check. toll, toll, check, check. cruising. and then, BAM - parking lot. 4 lanes of cars as far as the eye could see, moving 0-3 mph. then i see the sign:

ROAD WORK AHEAD... LEFT 3 LANES CLOSED. USE BREAKDOWN LANE.

brilliant! what, with yankees/red sox AND pearl jam going on in boston and all.. UGH!!! what a mess.. sat in that garbage for well over an hour. what\'s worse is that it started about a mile AFTER the exit for 95. so it could have been avoided completely, had there been ANY warning. UGH!!! ended up taking 3 hours to get home, and i ended up with an hour and 45 minutes of sleep before waking up and driving an hour to work.

...and i get to do it all again tonight! i will, of course, be taking 95 home tonight. but seriously - fuck boston. in fact, fuck the entire state of massachusetts. fuck $23 parking, fuck road work, fuck tolls, and fuck the red sox while we\'re at it. ;) what a miserable, miserable place.

while driving through one of those 50 tunnels that forks off into 867 different directions:

me: i mean, who the fuck designed these things?!?
lisa: the fucking red sox.
me: rotfl

both my bros are at these two nights in boston. by the looks of the setlist I would have to say last nights show looks better than albany, despite my amazing seats. guess I will have to wait til I talk to my brothers.

As I told dave earlier, if the previous 2 tours have been any hint, the second concert (or 3rd) is always the best of the run. I can\'t believe he got rats twice! Bastard!

Watch, tonight he\'ll get a Mankind>W.M.A.>Leash. I\'m calling it now.

Chris - no extras, but unless we carpool with someone, your welcome to jump in the car with us and try your best for tickets. We\'ll probably be leaving at 12:30p sharp when I get out of work. We are going to the saturday show. Usually if you get in line at the box office you can upgrade your tickets (you have to wait all day), but even if you don\'t and someone in front of you does upgrade, they\'ll be looking to sell their tickets. Not a guarentee though.

we ran into pat before the show last night. it was actually the first night (ed/the picture).. he said they were hanging out at a bar down the street with him/them..

we thought indifference was the last song and left towards the end. we missed leash.

 no we didn\'t!!!! fuck.yes!!! ahahahahahahaha!!!

oh, and i thought it sounded better than some of the recordings that i\'ve heard it on from back in the day. i was really well done. i just don\'t know if i wanna see it back in rotation, since it will take away from this a little (not a lot though - this is pretty tough to beat!), as their current playing of Satan\'s Bed sort of takes away from the albany bust out..
