I just went to the search section and noticed in the bottom a box in front of: Also search in child forums and it was checked ! What\'s THAT all about?

so if you wanna search all of \'breakfast babble\', you can just highlight that and check \'search in child forums\'.. likewise, check the box and highlight \'food for thought\' and it\'ll search in \'side dishes\' as well..

it\'s 2:30 in the morning and i just checked to see who\'s online
some people..some guests..and GOOGLE SPIDER!!
i know that this is not a member cause i checked the list out of my lifelong fear of arachnids...
can someone please tell me what\'s going?

search engines (google, yahoo, msn, lycos, etc.) have \'bots\', or \'spiders\' that go through all the pages of a website to collect content for their search indexes.. that\'s what the google spider is. :)

dave, are you going to set it up so we can attach files again? there was no way for me to attach the torrent file from richters to my new thread.

i\'m trying to think of a reason to allow attachments in posts, but i can\'t really think of anything. will probably keep it on a \'use your own host\' basis, unless someone can give me a really good reason to allow attachments.. external links are better because attachments put more strain on the server..

this is part of the reason why i added the imageshack functionality to the site - so that people could easily host and link to their own pics in threads.. and with torrent files, why not just provide a direct link (along with the link to the torrent page):

timmy torrent - click here to download

Didn\'t it used to say the date the thread was started next to who started it? Or maybe I just always wanted it to...

im not sure if anyone else has the problem, but a lot of the time bt.etree.org runs slow for me and takes 20 mins of refreshing to actually get on the site so i can view the page for the torrent, that is if it loads at all. If the torrent file is attached and bt.etree.org won\'t load then people can just download the torrent file quickly and start downloading, so i have been attaching torrent files to the threads for the last month or two whenever i remember to. im not sure if a link straight to the torrent file would work in that situatuation, because if the site doesnt load ive never had access directly to the torrent file.
