Local Bands show debut and giveaways 2/20/05
« on: February 12, 2005, 11:59:55 pm »
I just finished recording the WPLR \'Local Bands" show to be aired 2/20/05 at 10 PM.

Rick Allison and James Velvet are two of the biggest Breakfast supporters on radio.  During the broacast there will be three Real Radio CDs. avaliable to lucky listeners who follow directions..........

By the way...I thought it would be fun if the show openned with "The Mystery song"...the only Breakfast song ever to appear on a recording that was never played live.  Also featured is the recording of Vera Street, which is a great recording that adds a lot of value to what you have heard in the song live...lots of cool vocals, etc.

Anyway...as far as I know these might be the only copies available to listeners before the Toads show.

The show also features some new Pencilgrass tunes, and will be availble for listening at http://www.localbands.com.

See y\'all soon.

Fresh Cut - I wasn\'t a huge fan of the vocals, but I like the song otherwise.  Jam potential galore.

Vera St. - To quote a friend of mine (who had never heard The Breakfast until tonight), "If that doesn\'t get on the radio, it\'s not going to happen".  If this is any indication of how the album sounds, then this band deserves the world in 2005...

Oh, and this guy almost went ballistic when Fresh Cut ended and the beginning of Scheme started playing before they cut it off...

yeah, i\'d questioned the track breaking myself.. the first 4 beats of the scheme are tacked onto the end of FC. hopefully that\'s fixed for the final pressing..

Drew...

If I do a quick count on my fingers there are at least 6 songs on Real Radio I like better than Fresh Cut....but I thought like the theme a lot and thought it was appropriate to start the show as no one had heard it.

Inner Glimpse, Gravity, the new sleeping Beauty mix, Doughboy, are all super cool.     The album sleeper is the absolutely monster guitar war between Tim and Jeff Pevar on Singapore Fairie...

But....maybe I\'m giving away a little toooo much here.....

Dave....

There is nothing to fix....Fresh Cut crossfades into Scheme, which is how Tim wanted it.  There is an ID so you can get right to scheme...but if the CD is just playing one blends into the other.

Of course Rick didn\'t know that, and a little of the intro made it into the program.

oh, don\'t get me wrong, i like the fade.. but if you just skip right to the scheme, it doesn\'t sound right, because the first 4 beats are tacked onto the end of the FC track..
