still havent hit this fest.  big and crowded from what ive heard, definitly dissapointed about no dead this year i would\'ve went.  none of these bands peak my interest enough to drive 21 hours to go there.  i\'ve heard plenty of stories friends getting robbed to people makin 40 grand(dont ask).  a bunch of my boys did the same RV thing this year, but they got the big bus, the rig that sleeps 10 they had a great time, id like to see some hip hop there, roots, j5, maybe a little rahzel.
the first year all my boys went, at the end sitting in traffick my boys see a row of new york plated cars driving into a field, as one of them pass they yell "new york tip of the day, farmers lettin us through" cut 10 hours outta that trip
anyway if i have to here anymore custy high school jack johnson bullshit my heads gonna explode

I believe both Jurassic 5 and the Roots have played there. Roots played the year I went which was pretty hot. Not sure why they didn\'t try to book a hiphop act this year; the people were diggin it for sure when I was there.

Mike, were they selling recordings of the sets? If so, that\'s probably why they didn\'t want you to tape. Greedy jerks. That fest went commercial fast. Quick, buy your official Bonnaroo everything!

i went the first two years and had a blast.  id pretty much describe it as the world\'s biggest party with great music and nonstop fun, not a boring second...you do have to bear with the heat however, which from my experience involves not moving very much in the sun.  but once its dark and cools down, WOO HOO! pretty hard to not have fun, that is unless youre trying not to.

definitely don\'t think i\'ll be making it this year unless some other bands come into the line up.  i went this past summer for the first time and swore i wouldn\'t go back unless in an RV.  even though there are some bands i wouldn\'t mind seeing, i\'m really not that crazy about the headliners.  it’s just not worth the 15 hour drive and deadly heat for dave mathews band :vomit2: and modest mouse-wtf?! Not a fan of keller, oar. or jack johnson. wouldn’t mind seeing sts9, karl denson, or UM put on a show like last year. just have to wait and see what happens/..

Either I have no idea what Tenn weather is like, but worst-case is something like 90deg 90% humidity, right?

In that kind of weather there is nothing better to do than sit around, chill out and listen to tunes.

[and i was def planing on RVing it]

unless you were born in a jungle and can handle the heat, i really wouldn\'t recommend a lot of movement during the daytime--the girl i went with who had never been to a festival before collapsed on the second day and had to go to the medical tent for hours. don\'t bother packing a lot of clothes, all you need is a bathing suit, a spray bottle and as much aloe as you can find-doesn\'t matter how much sunscreen you have, you\'re gonna fry.

TICKET PRICE: Tickets for BONNAROO 2005 are priced at three levels.
The first tickets will be priced at a special rate of $146.50 each. There is a limited allotment of tickets at this price. When the initial allotment is sold out, ticket prices will increase without notice to $161.50. After the second allotment is sold out, the ticket price will increase without notice to $172.50.
-All tickets are 3-day weekend passes which include camping & parking (except for RVs and other oversized vehicles, which will require an additional pass, see below).
-Prices do not include service and shipping charges.
-Service charges are $14.50 PER TICKET. This includes a $3 fee for Coffee County and $1 for charity.
-You will be offered two shipping options: U.S. Priority Mail for $7.00 per order OR UPS Second-Day Air Signature Required for $11.00. Shipping costs for International Orders vary based on the country to which the order is being shipped. There is a limit of 10 tickets per order.

...also since RVs are very popular:
All RVs will be parked in specifically  designated, RV-only areas on the festival grounds
-  There will be a special RV pass required for each RV to enter the festival  grounds.  Passes will be $40.  Supplies will be limited.
-  RV passes will be available when you purchase your tickets to Bonnaroo.
-  Under no circumstances  will an RV be permitted to enter the festival grounds without  a  pass.
-  At the time you purchase an RV Parking Pass you will be given the option of purchasing a Companion Vehicle Pass for $10. The Companion Vehicle pass will allow an accompanying vehicle into a designated camping area next to the RV camping areas.

...so you\'re looking at a high-end ticket price of around $225 for RV, or $75 more than big cypress, it and coventry, $125 more than oswego. [i can\'t compare to others since those are the only stub i have].

Another point on weather 90deg and 90%hum is not comfortable, and it is not my favorite weather, but it is bearable. Also, for those of you who have been watching the news every 5 miuntes they mentioned that it was "Frigid" in washington yesterday. It was 35. [explative] texans, 35 is WARM!

Dave\'s spray-on tan bottle?

Just teasing Peck.  I know that your winter tans are pure and direct from the Mid-winter Great Big Fiery Ball in the Sky.

It would not be unheard of for the TN heat in June, in the sun, to top 100...

They always sell recordings Joc but if they were gonna change the rules they could have at least said something before the festival started or just said NO Taping and I wouldnt have gone anyway.

It was just really sad. They handled it horribly and resorted to threats. They could have posted a sign or they could have honored what the Fing ticket said.

Just really pissed me off.

Lugging 60lbs of EQ on my back in 90+ degree heat and almost 100% humidity to only be hassled at the gates for something this Festival is supposed to be cool with according th their website and tickets etc etc just wasnt a way for them to make freinds but sure enough they dont give a rats ass.

This festival is not run by people anymore it is all corporate and when were down there we were told by folks in the know that the the festival rights were sold and that the original folks were not that big a part of the festival anymore.

Oh well. I will say this I burn like a mofo and I just lathered on the 40SPF and had no issues what so ever.

They probably told you that taping was allowed to get all the tapers to pay the admission price.  I\'m sure there were lots of you that paid to get screwed.

Festival doesn\'t sound that cool.  I really don\'t know many of the bands there at all anyhow.
