The Official 11-24-04 Porter\'s Anticipation Thread

This venue has been charmed for us.  Those of you who have been to a Breakfast show at Porters know what I mean (3-12-04\'s Tribal>Mommy>Tribal).  Those of you who haven\'t been....should.

I know this night (night before thanksgiving) is usually a big night for people to go out drinking with hometown friends.  Well if you are wondering where to go with your hometown friends for something other than the usual drink till you vomit nights, bring em to Porters for a SER rock and roll show.

The opening band, The People\'s Band will blow your friggin minds away as well.  They are the only band I have ever heard attempt and pull off successfully, a sweet version of Hendrix\'s 1983 (a merman I should turn to be)

I am so excited for this one.  Porters should be a great launching pad show for the nice little breakfast turkey run that follows (Knitting Factory on 11-26 and Sullys on 11-27).

Originals I\'d Love to Hear: Spunk, See the Light, Gravity
Covers I\'d Love to Hear: King of the World, Sylvia, Good Times Bad Times

Lofty goals, but it\'s fuckin\' Porters: New Year\'s Eve Observed.

I would to love to hear King of the World as well.  I will list my preferred song lineup as well:

Breakfast - Mooboo\'s (haven\'t heard it in a while), Mayfly, Doughboy, Grand Scheme,  Love Lake or Fairy, Taboo, Episode 3\'s premier

Covers - Peaches En Regalia, Night of the Thumpasaurus Peoples, Magic Fingers, and possibly a new one by Michael Jackson or Cool and the Gang.  Any Steely Dan covers would be great too!

Definate MooBoos at Porters.  I think the last CT Ep.2 was at the cafe9 show second set Deuce set....  Correct me if I am wrong...

I was also listening to the Guilford Green show today and the inverted See the Light would be sweeeeeet.

I would love to see Kal (Guitarist from the Peoples Band) sit in and shred it up with Timmy, as well as Stephen [i think that is his name] (Bassist from the Peoples Band) get a shot to drop some drippy-ass funk nuggets with Ronnie

I am starting the official car pool thread for Porters!

I have (i think) 2 confirmed for the ride up.  I could go with 1-2 more comfortably.  Gencs, you in?
After speaking with you, I\'ve realized how much dumber I\'ve become.

Excellent sentence Wah!  Excellent (said in my best Monty Burns impersonation).....

Gencs...I\'m  thinking maybe between 7p-8p.  I need to s/w FreeSpirit as well.  Sghe said that she wants to come, so I was thinking maybe we could swing by and pick her up (if she likes).  We\'ll see.
