Who should I trust on the MMW instincts?  Marcial or Freddy?

Oh my lord... MMW... one of if not the best in the "scene" right now. I agree with Fred, almost untouchable. I would say Chris Wood is the weakest link in the band. But he is still pretty killer...

Thank god they don\'t have vocals, that would sound terrible.

I don\'t understand how they can go in a category with STS9. First of all, neither of those two bands can play jazz. MMW is also way more innovative with much more difficult, and interesting, music... way better "jamming"... SO MUCH more original. STS9 and Particle I\'m sure would suck on MMW\'s big fat penis.

Rod Stewart- you can\'t be his shit back in the day.  his material did go downhill around the time \'Some Guys Have All the Luck\' came out.

Ok Jocelyn,

You have convinced me that I need to listen to MMW a little bit more before I find a verdict.  I will a bring the Shackman cd in the shower with me in a few minutes and listen very carefully for whatever I may have missed the first time around.

It\'s official:  MMW\'s Shackman does absolutely nothing for me.  I will give other MMW albums a chance to be fair.  There has to be some magic in the other albums or live performances that this album doesn\'t have.  First to claim Shackman gets to keep it.  I will be down for some Breakfast either on the 24th or the 26th.

Please take it.

Sorry joc & fred... MMW is weak.  No vocals, NO GUITAR, and worst of all, a stand-up bass... what a fucking tool.  You can\'t be in a rock band with a stand-up bass!  Rock, jazz, whatever you want to call them... they are monotanus and boring... a few rungs on the ladder below Particle, and way below STS9.

I band needs vocals and GUITAR to be good? That\'s the most absurd thing I have heard all week. So you think jazz sucks then? (When there is no guitar or vocals?)

Stand-up bass = TOOL? How can you not hear how much deep, thick sound a stand-up bass has sometimes, and sometimes it can be so gentle.... How can its resonance not sound beautiful to you? And, how can you not appreciate the skill it takes to play one? Not to mention making a stand-up sound funky, which is no easy feat.

Monotonous= playing the same thing over and over and over. Lack of variety. MMW does nto fit this description, IMO.

MMW are not a rock band.

How can they be below STS9? I hope you are not referring to skill as musicians, because if you are, I would have to say that you have no ear for talent. I can understand if it\'s not your thing, but if you really think that STS9 and Particle are better MUSICIANS than MMW... well...

WHO WANTS TO HELP ME FREE UP A SPACE IN MY CD CASE BY VOLUNTEERING TO TAKE SHACKMAN?

I WILL STILL CONSIDER OTHER MMW ALBUMS REGARDLESS OF MY EMPTY FEELINGS FOR SHACKMAN.
