I gotta go w/ Jive Talkin\' for the pure fact that it\'s freakin\' Jive Talkin\'!!! Awesome cover. Really well done and I can see the rave reviews already for it. Inner Glimpse is absolutely Stellar!! Excellent version. Nice effects and vocals spot on. Sleeping Beauty is def. going to be a sleeper hit for those that have not heard it I suspect. Earache is raunchy just as it should be. This album w/ the proper marketing can get these guys noticed on a larger level from what I have just heard.

went with earache just because it was a total suprise to see it there, and it sounds stellar.

dont get me wrong, inner and sleep are awesome, its just that I was in the studio when these were recorded, and not when earache was, so earache is the \'new\' song to me.

Went with Earache also for surprise value - all are great, but IG unfortunately didn\'t do it for me as I thought it would, as it seems a tad slow.

BTW, thanks to dave for offering up a rip of the sampler for those of us who couldn\'t be there :thumbsup:

SB is reallygood but I don\'t like Tim\'s "ahhhh" vocal in the intro

EA is f\'n GREAT!

Jive Talkin is a great cover and Jordan sounds good BUT - listen to the Rufus version... rule #1.. only cover a tune if you can make it better... and no offense to Jordan but Chakkakan he is not.

what does a bee gees tune have to do with chakkakan?

as for the breakfast\'s jive talkin. i would love to see them throw it down at a show, just for the fact that people would start busting out disco moves. it is also a nice treat to have on the sampler, but it does lack something opposed to the other 3 selections. i think its a bit repetetive musically. i dig sequoia\'s vibe on it.

The tune is by Rufus which was a 70\'s funk tune fronted by Chakkakan.
I also like Jordan\'s vibe on it and his voice is great... I would also like to see it at a show BUT.. it just sounds to white bread for me.

As for the record... there are probably 50 tunes that would make much better sense.. but hey.. what do I know?

Having listened to the sampler many many times now I still am really lovin\' Jive Talkin\'. I think it shows a "normal" side to the band that some may not have heard. Plus it just brings back good childhood memories. IG is really good but the more I hear it I just want to hear the live versions more. Kinda the same for SB. As for earache I think I listen to that the least.
