Ratdog\'s Rob Wasserman\'s new CD is out!
« on: September 10, 2004, 07:06:32 pm »
Hey Everyone!

I\'m so excited about Rob Wasserman\'s new CD release, Trilogy. He started Ratdog with Bob Weir, and they were also known as Weir/Wasserman for 10 years. Plus, he spent time playing with Jerry Garcia so of course Rob HAD to have them collaborate on the albums.

Trilogy is an addictive collection of three of his albums: Solo, Duets
and Trios (which won him Grammy\'s). All three CDs create a feeling of peace, warmth, excitement and true appreciation for great music. I really want Rob\'s name and amazing bass playing to get out there for the world to be immersed in. Plus the special guests on this album are OUTRAGEOUS.

Check out the heavy hitters: Bob Weir, Jerry Garcia, Les Claypool, Bruce Hornsby, Neil Young, Lou Reed, Marc Ribot, and Branford Marsalis. There are many more! Plus, Rounder Records put the album out and they\'ve got lots of great musicians on the label! The album is available everywhere, even Grateful Dead Merchandise.

Rob is finishing up a tour with Prescription Trio with Mike Clark and
Robert Walter.

He\'ll be touring for the first time with Vince Herman from Leftover
Salmon and Jim Page on the "Spirit of Guthrie" tour in October, a
tribute to Woodie Guthrie. I\'m sure the tour dates will be posted soon.

In the meantime, visit http://www.robwasserman.com
<http://www.robwasserman.com/>  for updates.

Oh, the tour supports HeadCount, voter registration group dedicated to the scene. Check out http://www.headcount.org <http://www.headcount.org/>  if you haven\'t heard of it yet and REGISTER to vote.

Rock on!

Nice call, dave. And there was me, about to go shouting about hitting 450 members!!

Looks like we\'ll have to have a vetting procedure for new members ;)  - maybe a breakfast quiz.

I think you may have earned your wings at 230 posts. And yes, add one point for correcting FZ\'s terrible spelling

and yes, boombox gets an extra point for correcting my terrible spelling. Thank the wallingford school system for that one.

I got a 9/10 and think I may be in the running for some bonus points.  Without checking the setlist archive, I do not know how many times PB played at Puppethouse.  I have a Puppethouse house show from \'99 on my computer so I will go ahead and guess one because I don\'t know of any others (though I would think they played there more than once in the "beginning").  The only reason I know HDX was because it was performed at the 2-2-00 Butterfield show and there was discussion about it afterwards on the original email list that preceeded PBfans.

Boombox,

Are you the guy that was planning on flying to NYC to see PB a year or two ago?  I have been inactive on PBfans till recently so I am trying to put some pieces together.  I used to spend a lot of time posting messages on the old email list.  Have you been over for a few shows?

Feeling bad for our deprived Euro fans (are there more than you?).

No joy on me flying out for a show (cashflow) - still a breakfast virgin I\'m afraid, and never contributed to the old email list. Would love to know who this guy who was planning to "fly out a year ago" - thought I was the only SER pb fan in the UK.

As for other Euro fans, think there might be one or two Italians and Scandinavians, but not seen them here.
