PGroove anyone dig \'em ?
« on: July 08, 2004, 10:37:18 pm »
PGroove is comin\' to town tomorrow and just wondering if anyone could shed some light on them for me.  Should I go? Are they just a mellow groove or do they rock out?

Well nevermind. it\'s only $7  and i downloaded some tasty treats off their site. Not bad @ all, if they bring lights it should be pretty heady.

Well from what i\'m hearing you may have no choice ;) Funny you mention Panic, is PG from the south or just Panic fans like stuff you usually do not?
I love Panic and am maybe 1 of 3 of my friends that are. Most of my friends tolerate Panic but that\'s abt it. I usually get the looks if I throw them on. LOL

As for The Breakfast not having a spot well just another stumbling block created by bad timing/luck. I gotta check out that other board funny people there.

So I saw PGroove last night @ Winston\'s. I had to miss the 1st set to p/u my friend from the airport but I caught the last song of 1st set and all of 2nd set. Pretty fun band. Waaaaay better than Particle and somewhat like the Disco Biscuits but not Boring (DB on steroids). Their lightshow was pretty good. I spoke @ length w/ Jason their LD. Pretty cool guy w/ skills on the Jands500. He also mentioned they have a bunch of Panic fans which they find to be strange as the only thing in common between the bands is they are both from the South. I would like to see/hear these guys in a theater for sure. They had the place jumpin\' for the 2nd set and did this one song Makumba? that had some Snoop/Wu-Tang/Beasties raps in it. So Sweeet. The joint went off on that song. Definetly worth checking out numerous times. Breakfast/PGroove shows must be friggin\' CRAZZEEE!!!!!!!!

I saw Pgroove in Columbia w/the Breakfast and I was ultra disappointed and spent most of the show (after the breakfast was done) in some side room smoking and drinking beer... Perhaps I was just frustrated because there was no one there for tb and the place got PACKED for Pgroove who was obviouslty the inferior band. I guess it\'s not suprising seeing as it was in SC and it is a southern band, after all....

The other thing that turns me off to Pgroove is that I have heard quite a few disparaging remarks regarding the character and egos of a few members of the band...

I saw them at Langerado and I really dug them.  Don\'t hate them before you hear it Duane, who knows, maybe PB will be at moe.down 6.
