« on: April 06, 2004, 01:37:02 pm »
Im a very active member at Sharing The Groove and through Tiedyetoga i learned all about The breakfast. I started downloading shows from archive.org... now i have over 40 shows and have seen them 4 times, and after this summer hopefully ill be in my double digits. But ive never posted here before so i was hoping i could introduce myself this way. ALso my name is nick obviously im 20 years old and im from massachusetts. I go to umass amherst and i major in education. My music plans for the summer... well this thursday im goin to see particle and buckethead and friday its the machine (pink floyd coverband). then on 4/20 soundtribe sector 9. Then i have to wait till may for the breakfast on the 8th and 22nd... then im goin to  bonnaroo, then to hornings hideout for nights of SCI... then to mn for 10k lakes then to CO for some more SCI and allmans.... after that im off to smilefest and then home. Add in phish dates and phish festivals, some Dead dates and some other random bands... and ill be set.

haha... actually i have a good story. Being a boston boy I had to go to the Boston show in december. I mean 20th anniversary how could i miss it. So i had bought tickets to Uniondale, Philly and albany but i couldnt get my hands on boston tickets. I ended not being able to go to the philly show so I gave them to this girl that i kind of connected with who admited she had no philly tickets and was hoping for a miracle the next night. So I wasnt even goin to go to boston becuase hell no if you think your goin to get a miracle there right. Well about 10 min before the show was goin to start i was sitting on the sidewalk with my ex gf who gave me a ride to find a ticket and my dog and some guy walks up and starts talking to emily (my ex) about our dog and they talk for a little while, im getting kinda heated at this point you know this guy is talking to her and shit. So he starts asking her what shes doin here and she explains i was lookin for a ticket and he asked who was goin to watch the dog if we got tickets and i then explained how emily had other plans and was just giving me a lift for a little while. And before i knew it the guy was reaching in his jacket pocket and he pulled out a ticket and handed it to me. I said thank you about 400 times and tried to explain to him how important it was to me. He told me about how his kids were goin in and they were goin to be in a different section and they wouldnt even know he didnt go. I talked with him for so long i missed half the first song. So after that i promised myself when picking up phish tickets to always pick up a couple extras just in case you find that person. Plus giving a ticket to a girl outside always strikes up a good conversation.. am i right?

Great Story man.
In \'91 I was taking my friend to his 1st GD show in L.A. no less. I had an xtra and while walking in the lot my friend asks me how much I\'m gonna try and get for the xtra. The incredelous look i received when i told him I was looking to "miracle " someone was so funny. So anyway I see this scarlet chillin\' and went up to her, handed her the ticket, smilied and turned to walk away. She says" wow thanx for the birthday present" I turned around surprised it was her Bday and said " no worries get me nxt year" and started on our way again. No less than 10 steps away I hear "hey stop u stop" directed @ me. I turn to see this near 300 lb dude running @ me. I look @ my friend like " dude we better run"  but the guy sees this and yells "no, dude thanx for the ticket" and gives me a big \'ol hug. Turns out he had bought his sister tix to the show for her bday but they had gotten lost. He felt so bad he gave his sis the ticket he happened to score and thus my miracle to her became one for him. Needless to say my buddy who watched all this go on 1st GD show and all was amazed and said to me " OK so when did u slip me the dose?" we all laughed and i know Ally and Steve to this day. It pays to miracle.
Worrying is like praying for something you don't want.

missed half the first song!? I had my ticket and I was there on time, I think everyone missed half the first song ;) So you didn\'t miss much more than the rest of us who had tickets. My buddy had no ticket and paid $100 for a fake, sucks to be him. In Nassau I missed at least half the first set waiting for my friends because I had their tickets, but we never found each other and I ended up selling them to two kids who looked like they were waiting outside for a ticket to the DMX show. Wasn\'t about to give them miracles, especially since I had to pay back the kid who gave me the xtras.
