BTW if this becomes the ONE and ONLY Baseball 2004 thread, the over/under is 792 responses by Halloween.

P.S.  Pop quiz:  Who can be the first person to name the other way that the number 792 is significant to baseball?

I believe this is the only and only BOSTON RED SOX thread. Not just baseball in general. Therefore, all of you Yanks fans coming on here to fluff your team, GET YOUR OWN DAMN THREAD!

Nah, Yankees fans are welcome, I think there should be one baseball thread and that\'s it.  Can you beleive I now live just 3.2 miles from Yankee Stadium?  (aka Death Star.)  Yikes!  Were it not for the Harlem River, I could walk to the stadium!  As it is, the subway can get me there in about 7.

Well, Drew started the thread and is the only other confirmed Boston fan on here so we will have to see what he says about it. I say, NY get  your own thread! I don\'t want "GO YANKS!" in my boys\' thread!

Seth if I lived that close to Yankee Stadium I would defintiely catch a game or two.

oh and also aJwvof and I believe Boston may have recruited Giavanna as a fan!

So yeah we\'ll have to go with a majority vote

Geez Joce, could you inflate your post total any more?  Look at those 3 posts in a row, all within 2 minutes of each other, all 1 sentence long.  Just so you know, you can use the spacebar twice between sentences and actually put more than one thought into the same post.  :cartman: :scooby:

Well, if it weren\'t for the ridiculous no-edit policy, we wouldn\'t have this problem no would we? If I thought of something I wanted to add, I could just edit it in without having to create a whole new post!

What is the no-edit policy you speak of?  I can\'t find it anywhere.  The edit button works just fine for me when I need to use it.  That\'s what it\'s there for.  Can you show me a copy of the no-edit policy?  I\'d feel bad if I have been violating a forum policy.

BTW for all gamblers, due to Jocelyn\'s 1-sentence-per-post limit, the over/under for this thread\'s responses has just jumped to 861 by Halloween.  Still waiting for someone to respond to the significance of the number 792 though.

I believe she is refering to the policy informally placed upon the forum by a select few trouble makers who will go nameless( u know who u are. ) I edit all the time but sometimes it just does not show if edited right away i believe. Joc edit away  edit away u r free free I say!

this is what I love and hate about Red Sox fans. They never seem to know when to stop talking, heh. And the same holds true for Patriots fans too, but we\'ll leave that for another day. Anywho, last week when the Yankees got beat by the Devil Rays, every Sox fan I ran into during the day (who all know I am a Yankees fan) couldn\'t help but run their mouth, "hey man, what happened?; hey man, you guys can\'t even beat the Devil Rays." It amazes me that every time the Red Sox lose a game they have nothing to say at all, and if I were to give them an "aww, they got spanked by the Orioles" today I\'d get the evilest look imaginable and probably get ignored until the Sox won 3 in a row and then I\'d get the "Oh hell yea kid! watch out new york, we\'re on a winning streak!"

So I ask you Beantown fans out there, why is this? Are you the same way? What is the \'high\' Sox fans get out of rubbin it in when the Yankees lose?

And Wolf, great prediction, but I\'ll go with Nomar goes out for a month with a broken toenail and then comes back only to go out for the rest of the year with an ACL tear from playing soccer with the wife

Amount of career doubles for Tris Speaker, the MLB record in the category since 1928. And the significance of 1928? Only ten years after 1918 ;)

Now Ant, since Boston ran around Baltimore like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off last night, there have been so many Yankees fans that have jumped all over it right quick. (example: "after game one... last place.") There is equal ribbing on both sides I believe. Are you trying to say that Yankess fans are always gracious and mature about the Red Sox season? Yeah right.

Also, most of the Boston fans I know are quick to comment when their team is playing poorly. We still hold faith regardless of the outcome, which some say is stupid and I say is what makes the nation the nation, but we know when our guys aren\'t up to par. Read my post from last night, which was posted I think before the 7th was even through, maybe the 8th.
