this sounds like a really great time. never heard of it before. anyone been? From the about us page...

Quote
A word from the Bumpkins behind the Pumpkins.

In a sentence – The Fall Down is New England’s premiere, theme-oriented Music Festival.
Share our vision for a moment if you will.  It’s October in Connecticut - the air is crisp, the colors are cool, the characters are…. creepy (and sexy),  and the entertainment is  as good as the leaves are gold.

This year we bring The Fall Down back to its hometown of Durham – where the concert creators first envisioned a simple get-together  with a creative ambition - we light a fire, we jam,  we carve pumpkins – we camp out, and we kickoff our favorite Holiday – Halloween.

That wasn’t good enough, though, and a short move and sixteen acres later -  The Fall Down was Born.  Soon it was bands, bumpkins and lots of pumpkins, and we were obligated to go after what was now a legitimate dream – throw our own Festival.

In a few short years that’s grown to become what you’ll witness - FDIII – two nights of the meanest music we could muster, camping, art installations, and the intuition that if you can’t be the biggest (which we don’t want to) you have to be the best.  That’s why we’ve acquired Camp Farnum, an historic and perfect location just lookin’ for some love;  the sounds of The Akashic Record featuring Nephrok!, StraddleDaddy, The Romano Project, I Anbassa, Chris Sewell and Co., Shake Down, Exit 6 and DJ’s Footfoot, Swell, and Ahrun.  What still can’t be compared to, of course – is the Annual THRILLER COSUTME DISCO DANCE PARTY, and the overall vibe which comes from simply being part of something special – The Fall Down.

This is our most exciting year.  We’re spending more  time, money, and energy than we ever have before.  It will show.  If there’s one thing the organizers are known for – it’s out-doing themselves.   And they won’t disappoint.

What keeps The Fall Down grounded, is its allegience to its roots. That’s where you come in.  Possibly the most important aspect of the event is its ability to throw back.  That’s why we REQUIRE  every festival goer to bring a carved JACKOLANTERN.  We do this for two reasons – to light the place up in an amazingly  unique and awesome way….. (your Jackolanterns  light the camping area of the festival grounds), and…to Get. You. Psyched.  Think now about your Jackolantern, and your costume.  If you don’t have one – you’ll feel underdressed.  Approach it like we do the entire event -  make it – love it – wear it – show it.

Preparation is paramount in making this great… If you prepare, you’ll be great.  If we prepare – The Fall Down will be great.   You carve it up, and we’ll make sure there’s danceability, lights, food, coffee in the morning, showers and running water, a place to stay, and weekend of fun.

We’re so glad you’ve decided to join us.  Afterall, here at the Fall Down, we’re all Country Bumpkins – Don’t be shy now, show us your Pumpkins…

this place was always kinda weird..i went to day camp there back in 1981.  supposedly a girl died at the brook near the entrance and her spirit known as bloody mary forever haunts the camp. also look for an inverted hand print inbeded in one of the stones on the stone wall near the entrance..
