Time for a Kung Fu board there Kroop!
|By the way... are there any large or medium Fu shirts available again?  Those sizes were all out @ Vibes...

Fu shirts? I know I\'ve not been around much of late, but how did I miss these? Design?

had a great time last night!  kung fu played one set for just over 2 hours starting at midnight.  at first they seemed a little tentative and cautious, perhaps trying to ease rob into it...but after a couple of songs they hit their stride/found their groove, and the show turned out to be a killer late night set that really got freaky and out there at times.  crazy solos by everyone all night and the combo of both horns added a nice and fuller sound during riffs.  i definitely think that after rob plays a few more shows with them, kung fu can really do some damage!

not sure of the setlist, but they played just about all the songs they usually play minus ventriloquist and levenger.  kjambayala was awesome and teen town got pretty ridiculous.  there were no sit ins due to kung fu starting later than anticipated (adrian said fareed haque was going to play sitar along to chakrabarty overdrive), although i cannot speak for anything that happened at the blue note.  as for the crowd, i really do suck at estimates so ill leave that to someone else...but a portion of a pretty good crowd left after the previous band (the van burens).  the crowd for fu was really into it and having fun and really stayed energetic until the very end!  i did see someone recording audio....

and heres some grainy out-of-focus pics:

That\'s a lot of exclamation points by snwckgtr aka snickerdoodle. With that many exclamation points you know it was "fun"! Actually, it was a decent set. Nothing too special. The horns muddied everything up. Sound balance was off. Sullivan Hlal isn\'t great with sound anyway. Mix that (pun intended) with bad horns and you\'ve set yourself up for disasster.

Driving up in a few hours back to NH (stopping in Boston/Brookline to see my girlfriend). Anyone need a ride?

You seem a bit uptight granitesteve84!
I\'ve never seen a a mediocre Fu show in any situation.
When you put six world class players on stage, some kind of magic is going to happen!
Get off the Bud light and try a Dogfish ale.
snwckgtr was in the same room and had no issues with the show!
