The guys on that stage are not unapproachable.  If he wants to play with them there are sane way to do it.

I\'ll give him a hint:  calmly walk up to Tim or Adrian, say "Hello, my name is ____..."

Play his cards like a sane human he could probably get a jam session with the guys.

i was at a festival once. brought my acoustic to the early widespread set and stood way over on the side, away from everyone, but jamming my ass off. at one point i had a shit eating grin, was really locked in and opened my eyes to see jb over on the edge of the stage watching and grinnin\'!! it was great. a couple people came over to listen, but i never even thought of standing in the crowd and doing that!
