Damn it.  There goes my dream of The Breakfast Club Part 2.

But in all seriousness, his movies were staples of my youth..pretty in pink, sixteen candles, ferris bueller, even home alone.

Definitely - so many classic lines in those movies.  My personality was definitely shaped in part by the quirkiness of his 80s movies.
