the only reason it happened last night was because of the macpodz gig last week. i dont think anyone besides the current tapers are motivated to do anything. months ago when people were complaining about upstate shows not being taped i posted a link to the alesis protrack -a $200 add on for ipod that transforms it into a suitable deck for recording live music in 16bit WAV.
it has built in microphones for steath recording and XLR inputs for external mics (extra with $100 for the mics/t-bar included). So for $300 and the ipod u already have u would have everything u need for audience recording with mics on a stand when taping is allowed, or use it as a steath recorder for northampton venues.
