matt was shown how to do this at the macpods show last week and decided to try it out.
No one could have figured something out in collaboration with you guys to get this done before?
you\'ve obviously never seen us try to get people to run camera and help out taping a show.
^^^ exactly.
the only reason it happened last night was because of the macpodz gig last week. i dont think anyone besides the current tapers are motivated to do anything. months ago when people were complaining about upstate shows not being taped i posted a link to the alesis protrack -a $200 add on for ipod that transforms it into a suitable deck for recording live music in 16bit WAV.
it has built in microphones for steath recording and XLR inputs for external mics (extra with $100 for the mics/t-bar included). So for $300 and the ipod u already have u would have everything u need for audience recording with mics on a stand when taping is allowed, or use it as a steath recorder for northampton venues.
there were several people who said they wanted to get into taping before i posted it, but no one was motivated to actually do anything and breakfast shows are still going untaped. no one wants to spend any money at all, no one wants to do any work, especially when it requires getting there early and maybe drinking less.
