thats all well and good dave but still does not back up your previous statement.  The fact that you want more success for your friends does not translate to the individual members being better than the whole.  Regardless of the of the level of the recognition they receive or don\'t receive the breakfast has sick chemistry/synergy and that is not something that is easy to find.

it doesn\'t matter how good the band is. you can have all the sick chemistry/synergy in the world and still have no one know who you are. each of these guys deserves to be known, and once again, that is something that isn\'t going to happen with the breakfast.

Actually, it does....

Matt O - brief member of the band, left the band and is getting more exposure and do by playing with cheese bands...
Adrian - had to cancel a TB gig because he got (what I can only assume is) a decent paying gig with Willie Waldman (or whatever his name is).  Probably gets a lot of exposure with that guy and his touring troup...
Tim - although he\'s not playing with anyone right now, he could probably be picked up by an established band, plus he\'s probably making more money w/ tips w/ the amount of solo shows he\'s doing than what he\'s making w/ TB right now...
Ron - I\'m assuming that he\'s happy playing the music that he is...
Chris - from what I\'ve heard, he\'d make a great studio bass player...
Jordan - I\'m not sure what he up for these days...

The point is, I (we\'d) like to see these guys succeed as TB for selfish personal reasons, but it\'s not beyond the realm of possibility that TB may in fact be holding these guys back...

Yoda, Breakfast is about to hit their 2nd peak in popularity. By the end of this summer. Mark my words or not... the Breakfast are too good to ignore right now and post Phenway is going to create huge buzz. Rocks off Boat cruise with U-Melt = fine opportunity as well.

And playing the late night cabin Friday slot at Strange Creek?

Hey whatever though, if you really give up on The Breakfast Dave and ever wanna pull the plug on this site keep in mind I got server space up the whazoo, we can do a smooth domain transfer any time.

I think the best shot they\'ve got succeeding is as The Breakfast with the lineup they have right now and kicking some ass this summer.

I have no doubt these musicians could probably make more money in the short/medium term focusing on other things. But I\'d also like to think that for such serious and inspiring musicians it\'s not 100% about the money. If you really want your friends to be rich let\'s step up the promo effort so they can be rich *and* be The Breakfast.

Still stickin to Plan A.

I\'d love for this to happen, but they have to keep the momentum going after these shows....  \'00-\'04 (when I felt they peaked), May-Aug, they averaged over 10 shows a month.  That equals exposure, a dozen shows booked through August in 2009 may create a little buzz, but it will most likely be fleeting buzz...

i actually agree with yoda, in that great, they rack up a bunch of exposure post-fenway and at strangecreek and hopefully at camp barefoot. which will be great for their NE gigs. but seeing as how they won\'t be able to follow up those shows anywhere else, the momentum ends there.  someone from some non-new england state seeing them will be psyched - until months pass, there\'s only a handful of shows available to download (if they\'re checking the archive, otherwise they won\'t find even those shows), and no gigs scheduled anywhere outside of what i like to call max creek turf.

now, whether this is their death knell or just another bump in the breakfast road, who knows. but until they can tour consistently, they\'re stuck in new england, where folks have had ten years to make up their minds about the band already.

I don\'t think that this is "their death knell" but they need to do some serious damage control if they want to continue growing as TB....

shouldn\'t this be split off at somepoint to the "pissing about what the breakfast is doing these days thread."

...since this really doesn\'t have much to do with Matty O, or Jimmy Fallon.

no sense cryin over spilt milk....

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions- and it is completely within the rights of all my breakfast friends to say whatever they\'d like on this virtual space we share.

My opinion is that it\'s fruitless to re-hash over and over the things that went wrong or didn\'t work.

As long as there are still shows on the schedule, I\'ll keep showin up and ragin as often as I can...

Food For Thought.... I always said that if TB didn\'t do make some moves to separate themselves from the pack, they\'d be the next Max Creek...

Max Creek Tour Dates
5/9 - The Warehouse
5/23 - Strangecreek
7/3 - Sterling Stage
7/4 - Sterling Stage
9/4-6 - Eastover Resort

Hubinger Street Tour Dates
9/12 - Connies
9/20 - The Star Cafe
10/4 - Ansonia Harvest Fest

Do you see a pattern...

On the other hand, Kicking Dasies, a group of 4 kids who have barely hit puberty, have 6 gigs in May and 2 in June already scheduled and just played to 2 sell out shows at Daniel Street. Granted their not making a ton of money, but what they don\'t make in cash, they\'re making up for in exposure...

The Breakfast and Kickin Daisies is apples and oranges. No use in even comparing them in this conversation, imo.
