honestly, a breakfast show after a phish show would be like blowing a gagger and passing out right after......better pre fenway bfast show.........

Solid point - that needs immediate attention.  It\'s a Sunday afternoon.  How would a 3:00 - 6:15 TB show treat ya?!?!

Gencs - you did it again, guy!  Just beautifullllll.

I\'ll throw my two cents into the threadjack:

I can\'t think of a single Bruce Springsteen song I enjoy, though I\'ll admit I\'m only familiar with the radio "hits".

Al -
If you like raw acoustic stuff, Nebraska might be up your alley.  Bruce isn\'t for everyone, but when all you hear is Born To Run, Thunder Road, Badlands, Hungry Heart, BITUSA, Glory Days and My Hometown, then you\'re missing out on some good music.

i wasted my money on Nebraska once.  It sucks

I really just want to see the Breakfast anyway. What do we have to do to get this done? Whatever time its at I will try and be there. Sunday night is not very good for me though. I just started my job back up and I need to keep it!!! Mainly so I can eat and drink and smoke and see tB shows :)

Interesting point...the one time I remember this happening was certainly one of the best concert days I ever had.  12/12/99 Breakfast at Federal Cafe in Hartford "opening" for Phish at the Hartford Civic Center.

Didn\'t they play at The Khyber in Philly after a Camden show?  I seem to recall this.

Someone who did Phish 12/31/02 > Breakfast @ Tobacco Road should also chime in.  (I was at Breakfast all night that night, no Phish.)  This was NYE though, kind of a different animal, and The Breakfast played until about 5:30AM which definitely will not be the situation in Boston

Yes. 7/30/03:

I: Jam > What the Funk > Wake Up in a Coma > Mooboo’s Voodoo (Episode 2), May Fly Disarray, Gravity > Peaches en Regalia > Attraction To Shade Ditty > Puppetry, Score > Drum Solo > Fire

Was definitely a fun night. Although from what I remember, there weren\'t too many people in attendance from the Phish show.

I think a pre-Phish Fenway show would be even better than a post show. Better yet, one set before the Phish show, another one or two after.

Yeah I remember this now.  We bolted from Phish the second the show ended but to no avail...we still hit postshow traffic and it took us over an hour to get to The Khyber.  And there was nobody there...maybe 20 people.  Dooze.

Bill\'s Bar would obviously be a different story, being across the street from Fenway.  The only traffic would be the foot traffic to get in the door!  But I love the preshow idea...especially given that it\'s a Sunday night, I\'d much rather do Breakfast 4-6:30 > Phish 7:30-11.  And I can\'t wait to see who plays the brand new House of Blues across the street from Fenway before/after Phish!

pre and post are both moot points. the facts are:

there are more people who want to see phish at fenway than the building can hold
those people will go regardless
they will need something to do once they realize they can\'t get in.

hence, breakfast should play a 3 set show. do a pre show, once the crowd thins to go to fenway, take a break for a half hour or so and they come back on and do a show while phish is playing for all the people stuck outside and looking for something to do. fenway doesn\'t have a lot, so they\'re not going to be able to tailgate which means they\'ll be crowding the bars. play for those people. bills will love it because they\'ll be pulling in an even larger crowd than expected during the show, and then post show, do another set for all the people filing out. they\'re all asking their friends where to party that were stuck outside and getting told "go to bills, we\'re in here, breakfast have been ripping it up all afternoon!"

that\'s what I would do anyway.

The math here doesn\'t quite add up. ThePhish show is pretty unlikely to equal one Breakfast set in length, no?

my first breakfast show was a single 3 or 4 hour set...

what they should do is get live setlist updates from someone in the phish show and play the exact same setlist during the phish show.  whoever\'s taping then starts burning discs like a madman and handing them out to people leaving fenway.  they listen and realize that they should have been at bill\'s instead...   eh?

no, you\'re right, they\'d be playing for hours if they did it continously. What saying is do 3 or 4 sets:

set 1: pre phish doors by an hour or so > a little after everyone starts to leave, take a set break
set 2/3: 30 min later, play 1 or 2 sets during the phish show

set 3/4: start playing again when phish starts their encore and play another hour/hour and a half set.

Do that, you keep the people who don\'t have tickets in bills bar, and as the show is ending in fenway everyone is getting the messages to come over and check out this band.

of course, they\'d still have to book a show...

right because you definitely won\'t be able to hear the phish show from the street outside of fenway. people will certainly be bored and looking for something to do.
