You guys still working on that Jersey show or is that a no go at this point?

Side projects are their dayjobs. Get over it

So then if they\'re back to being weekend warriors, 19 of those solo shows (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) should have been TB shows...  I\'m done complaining about where and when TB plays, but if they\'re going to stay as a band and try and gain fans, they need to at least play the weekends as TB...

if they were being weekend warriors, that is what they would be doing. but instead, here are the facts:

- they\'re playing ~3 shows per month.
- they\'re playing about a third of their catalog.
- they haven\'t written a new song in over a year (not counting matt\'s IAQ, which is obviously gone).

can it be any more obvious that maybe the breakfast has become the side project and is no longer a priority?

I think it\'s pretty clear that we need to get our butts out to shows and drag people along with us this summer.

Perhaps that will pay dividends in extending the "while we can" time. Maybe even well into the future if we get serious.

I don\'t see that statement as a nail in the coffin.... more like a do or let die wake up call. Hope to see y\'all at Red Square and Toad\'s and Strangecreek.

ok,since its taking my band forever to make an officail statement of the future of the breakfast....i might as well tell you the fans a couple of things.the band is in serious debt and has been for a long long time and getting much worse the more weve played.we are playing the markets that pay us the best this year to hopefully get out of it.and by liquidating everything like the van and trailer, crew, ect..it might happen.so everybody is thinking about serious changes in their lives to become successful at music and biz...the breakfast will always play together from time to time....the is just to good not to.the times had and still have are the best and an education that money cannot buy.there will be more info on this subject in the future.i\'m not good at this shit so i will stop typing..thanx adrian

Ad - the update is greatly appreciated...

Damn me for missing out on 5+ years of killer music...  I\'m guess that I probably saw my last TB show back in July last year, since most (if not all) get togethers will be in CT or upstate... Damn my stupidness...

We always try to donate something, even if it\'s not money.
If donating to the gas fund would do it, I would help.

I think it\'s safe to say that many or most of TB fans are also seriously in debt. My education is the reason for this. Irony.

However, I will cherish the moments spent with the band, because it must be a sad thing to have to ease up on their musical dream. Time to time is better than no time.

As far as assets...What gives the guys the most profit? Merch/Cd\'s/t-shirts, show tickets, I-Tune payouts, etc. (aside from straight up dropping cash) I mean potentially, not actual.

Thanks for the info. You guys obviously have to do exactly what is needed to maintain your livelihood.  I was just thinking the other day (with lots of recent \'breakup\' talks) if there was any reason TB has to go all or none? Seems like that\'s what everyone bitches about if they\'re bitching. "Not enough shows!" "What the fuck, so many more side project dates!" "How about some west coast love?" This shouldn\'t be handled as a black and white situation. I, for one, appreciate your effort in pushing through hard times and saying "the breakfast will always play together from time to time"... I think that is more than enough to ask for.

When I get the chance to see TB in the future, I will savor it. If shows become incredibly infrequent, even more so than now, I\'ll savor each one I catch even more. If you guys catch a break and things take off, I\'ll buy new dancing shoes. Long live TB.

Cheers to that!  I\'ve been going to shows since the beginning.  I\'ve always made it a point to pony-up whenever possible, in fact i was happy to pay if it helped them bring the music to the masses... only when I was dead broke did I even consider asking to be on the guest list.  I remember many show when it seemed like 50% of the people attending were on the guest list.  I\'m just saying, be thankful for the shows you\'ve been on the guestlist in the past, but now it may be time to cough up the ticket price to try to help them out, don\'t make them feel bad for saying they can\'t do it, just don\'t ask.  Seriously, the shows aren\'t that expensive.  Hope they can keep playing their music but I\'m beginning to think it may end soon.  They can\'t keep borrowing money to keep playing so they can lose more money, you don\'t have to be an economist to figure that out!
Lois: What the hell?  Marilyn Manson?  Is that who\'s causing all this?  Peter: Yeah, it\'s all him or hers fault.  Who does he or she think he or she is?  Look, you can totally see his or her nipples.  That\'s obscene... maybe.  Lois: There\'s only one thing to do.  Peter: You\'re right.  We got to find this Marilyn Manson and I\'ve got to give that bastard or bitch a piece of my mind or penis.

It was to me months ago but noooo everyone had to give me shit for bringing it up.

The response was they\'re taking a break which we now know was bullshit but everyone loves the fucking Kool-Aid around here and just drank it up.

Guys.. Just keep going to shows. If absence makes the heart grow fonder then I guess we\'ll really have a chance to prove the theory.

If the band "goes away" we\'ll have the archive to relive... if they play infrequently... maybe more people will hit up the shows.. if they start four new bands.. we\'ll be going anyway..

It will be interesting to see what the numbers look like through the summer.

I sup[pose if they are lucky enough to get a big break this year we can all come back and laugh at this thread.

and yes Leith.. you\'re such a fucking visionary you told us all... we all should have listened to you.
