If it is Fluffhead than the it is going to be a new tune that they have been working on before they get back to the classics.

Phish seems so nostalgic now.

"The Field" or "Any Cover" (Frankenstein) seem like the safe bets. But, with house money, go YEM or go home.

how does Tweezer NOT make this list?? that and PYITE should be right up there in the 8:1s.

Well I\'m too lazy to to IHOZ it, but I\'m pretty sure that Tweezer was rarely the stuff of first-set opener.  The groundswell of support for PYITE is interesting though.  The line on that could certainly be 8:1.  Unfortunately Foxwoods is not offering a line on PYITE, but you can always take the field...

I think "any cover" is the worst bet.  I just can\'t see Phish allowing someone else\'s song to occupy the most important slot of all time.  I like Golgi and playing with house money I love it at 30:1.  I\'d rather take my shot at $3,000 with Golgi than win $10 on whatever.  If I then had to bet $100 of my own money, I\'d take Chalkdust.

I say YEM as a way of making up for their 2002 botch at Hampton. I also find it somewhat bizarre that debuts are at 4 to 1. I\'d be amazed and flabergasted if they opened with a song that nobody knew. Talk about taking the air out of the balloon.

By the way, Riker\'s Mailbox is 1 million to 1, End of Session is 1 billion to 1, and any song off Undermind is 50 trillion to 1.

i\'m feel like they\'ll open with a song that they can extend an intro and let people go apeshit before they actually have to sing anything....

therefore-
pyite is game (although i don\'t know if they\'ll do something so technical right off the bat)

tweezer def makes sense

from this list acdc bag seems like an ok bet as does chalk dust and maaaaaybe wilson (but i think everyone wants to go apeshit, not chant)

my money\'s still on possum
taints rule, gypsies drool!

The one cover that would be acceptable (imo) is 2001.. i remember dsnumbs saying he thought it would be a solid opener, and i agree whole heartedly. i\'d love 2001>yem/reba to kick things off, itd be perfect.

but i too am on the pyite train for more realistic possibilites. pyite opened my first show (7-8-00) and i still think its the best phopener in the repertoire.

gotta jiboo would be totally absurd and should be taken off this list.

free is another possibility, and to drop the \'r\' Fee would be fucking SICK!
