Okay, anyone in CT know a good DJ?  I mean, KNOW a good one.

Every slacker I\'ve met with makes me terribly nervous.  I just feel the music is the MOST important part of the reception besides the food.   And i\'ve yet to meet someone that makes me go.....wow, i trust you with the soundtrack to my wedding.  I mean, I am definitely a music snob and have the entire playlist already selected in my brain.  SO i almost just need a robot with giant speakers.

I have just been to toooo many weddings, and seen what those kind of DJs do. I think I would jump out of a window if I had to see my mother doing the chicken dance....

That\'s the sole reason that we hired an 11 piece orchestra for our wedding.  And we made sure that there was no Chicken Dance, Electric Slide, Macarena, Achey Brakey Heart or any other stupid group song... We forgot the Can Can and they got us with that.  That being said, it was probably $5K of the best money I\'ve ever spent.

why not make a playlist on an ipod and rent a sound system or something? probably save some dough.

personally, i\'d have the breakfast play my wedding... and funeral.

That\'s an idea.   It crossed my mind.  But then, i still need an MC sort of person to "announce" things like:  hey look at them, they\'re cutting the cake, and all the obligatory hijinxs.

Actually, i would consider the GTB...but i dont think our families would like 5 hours of RHCP.....or rather, the Union League couldn\'t handle 5 hours of the GTB....

Ha, that is exactly what I would want to avoid in a wedding DJ. Even more so than the cheesy music perhaps.

I know someone, Frank Zappulla.  He\'s a friend/co-worker, has a ton of music and does lots of weddings.

I will not have a garter toss.  I had to put my foot down on that. I hate that.    Since i don\'t have a dad, there\'s no father-daughter dance, but instead i am making a video in honor of my grandparents and mother that will be played during the traditional moment where i am suppossed to dance with said non existent father.  So i have to figure out how to rent a large tv for just that moment.   My friends told me to do just a mother-daughter dance and I decided that\'s just awkward....

:chin: haha, my dream wedding would be:

Ian Schumacher (solo acoustic, or incl. Seannie) >  DJ Wolfman > Spastic Wolverines > Breakfast Trio > Psychedelic Breakfast
