You know it\'s a special day when I actually set my alarm. I think the last time I did that was when Clinton got inaugurated. And I overslept, much like Bush did in office.

I\'m going to taunt a couple of paranoid friends who have seriously bought into some right wing propaganda.

They seriously think he\'s going to double their taxes and write blank checks to people to welfare.

It\'s going be fun giving them crazy rumors as to what might happen.

Suggestions?

I woke up around 3am Monday morning and flicked on the TV.  Watched about 20 minutes of this wacko Televangelist, talking about Obama being the Antichrist and marking the end of days.

Tell these friends that Obama will bring about the kinds of apocalypse talked about in the book of Revelations

From my vp:
Quote

In an effort to make coverage of tomorrow’s historic inauguration available, we have made arrangements to have it playing in three places from 11:30 to 1:00 PM.  The locations are

Amazon Conference Room
Board Room
Main Lobby

If you would like to view any part of the event please do so in one of these locations.  Please do not use your company computer for this purpose as this will significantly slow down our network and could cause disruption to important business systems or even crash the network.

Please share this information with those who do not have email so they will know that this opportunity to watch history in the making is available

So we all gaterhed around these different areas of the building. I was watching from the front desk, and a fed ex guy showed up, looking a bit perplexed, and a few people called.

The friendly hr girl at the front desk whispered "Thank you for calling, how may I direct your call..."

Also the pictures of the crowd were amazing.

The speach was a bit meh, nothing he hadn\'t said before.

Goodbye George it\'s been nice
Hope you find your paradise
Tried to see your point of view
Hope your dreams will all come true
Goodbye George, Goodbye Bush
Will we ever meet again
Feel no sorrow, feel no shame
Come tomorrow, feel no pain
"After some fun times, Luke spacedocked Marissa."

I watched it in a small breakroom close to my desk, that was JAMMED with people.

I enjoyed the musical performances.  Aretha was the right choice, but she\'s lost a step vocally over the years. She was very good, but not the dynamic vocalist she once was.  The classical piece was spectacular.  Beautiful and inspiring and the musicians really looked like they were enjoying themselves.

I can\'t believe President Obama needed a line repeated to him during the swaring in ceremony.  It brought a fun laugh where I was watching it.

I felt his speech was amazing.  The best inaugural speech I\'ve heard.  It was elequent and inspiring, incorporated our past and challanged us about our future.  It presented a new outlook for this country and invited the rest of the world to grow and change with us.

the line was actually read to him wrong, which is why he laughed, because HE knew what the line was supposed to say.

She did the best she could. Let\'s see how well you sing with a slice of pie in your mouth.
