so it looks like the only way this show is going to happen is if we make it an early show. for those of you who were planning on or thinking about attending, would you still go if the show was moved to 7:30-9:30?

need as much input as possible here. thanks.

IF you are getting paid, then I would do the gig.  What else are you going to do?  Is there an option to go somewhere else?

basically they only want us to do the gig if we think we can bring a crowd at that time. if we show up and play, and no one shows up to see us, we look bad.

we have one possible but not probable option to change the location of the show, but it would likely be a long shot on such short notice.

we\'re really in a bad spot.

7:30-9:30 is a tough timeslot for any band.  I don\'t care who you are, it is a bit much to expect anyone to draw a large crowd in for that.

I don\'t think its fair to expect a niche band to draw a huge crowd during a time when most people are still eating dinner/pregaming for Saturday night.  A lot of people don\'t even go out until 10 or 11.

Hey Dave I don\'t really know dude. I do know I\'d love to see my 1st GTB show some time in the not too distant future.. but it takes something like Bfast NYE to get me down to New Haven anymore.

Come up to Sullys or something?

Personally, earlier is better for me.   But for you guys and the sake of drawing a crowd, I would get another venue or reschedule with Toad\'s.  Why are they being such bastards about the time slot?  Seriously.   What other venues do you have in mind?   Go to Connie\'s in Derby ;) That would make my millenium.

:that: anyway, I\'m away that weekend, so this would give me a chance of seeing the show.

i have a school function that i was going to attend earlier that night...i was kinda leaning on not going but let me talk to Kara and see what she wants to do...i am sure that we will be there either way...
maybe the sun will shine today...
the clouds will roll away..
maybe i wont be so afraid..
i will understand that everything has its plan...
either way...

at this point, i am personally leaning towards getting another venue, IF we can make that happen. given the positive response we\'ve gotten on facebook for this show, it will SUCK to have to cancel completely on this night.

I like the previous Connie\'s/Derby suggestion.  Decent sized room - Lord knows the Valley could use some Peppers in their pasta!!!
Not sure if it\'s available that night - you may want to check in with Whaley - I think he\'s in good with the guy there.

I seriously love that place.  its owned by a mutual friend of a friend\'s family.  They redid it a few years back and i dont think it gets enough attention.  Definitely a quaint place to hang out with that pub feel.   I am sure i could gather up some heads to go there and make a small crowd.

Cancelling completely would defintely suck! Whats the other venue you have in mind? If you had another option (with comparable pay out) it would be better for you guys I think to have a crowd... or at least more enjoyable I\'m sure.
Where to next?
