Ben Harper and Relentless 7.
It reminds me alot of early Lenny Kravitz. Heavy, fuzzy, guitar parts. Sometimes melodies are sacrificed for lyrical message, but the groove carries it. I like the drummer.
(I\'ve never been a Ben Harper fan either. Surprised I\'m enjoying this so much)
I actually am a big Ben Harper fan, up until his last 3 albums. Prob his best of the last 3 but still not a big fan. IMHO Diamonds on the Inside is his peak. Both Sides of the Gun was 2 30min CDs priced as 2 CDs (which really annoyed me since they coulda fit on 1 disc) I found it all drab and boring. Lifeline was better it had kinda a 70\'s soul feel to it, but still all very similar and def a little sleepy. Some of this opinion is based on the lives shows I saw for those discs, both not very good. Where as I saw BH&R7 @ Williamsburg Hall of Music, a much better show than the last few I saw. Also very cool to see Ben in that size venue, had alot of fun, (was given a afterparty pass but didn\'t meet Ben
) I def think that the R7 album is the best of his last few but I have the same problem with it I did the 2 before it, the whole album sounds the same. I don\'t know I think I might just be jaded, and a little over Ben. But yeah I\'ll burn you a copy if you want Billy, I\'ve also got a live disc that came with the pre-order if you want.
oh and currently listening to:
Robert Plant & Allison Krauss- Raising Sand
Mike Doughty- Haughty Melodic
BH&R7 (I still like it
even after all the shit talk)
