I am not one for reviews, but I had a blast this weekend. I enjoyed the whole experience, although I can say my body has/did not. Tennessee in June is just way too hot for this guy. I also recommend not starting to drink and party at 6:30am, you may just end up getting a haircut next to a trash can by some random person with a pair of regular scissors (although she did do a helluva job considering she was not a hairdresser).

Just wondering why the sit-in was at the end of the first set and not the end of the show.  At least they didn\'t close the festival w/ Hood.

bruce can\'t stay awake past 10. and i\'d much rather see a hood festival closer than a suzy, tweeprise.

To counter your bruce comment, all of his shows go to around 11 and I\'m pretty sure that he played until midnight on saturday...

As for you rather Hood as an encore than Suz/Tweeprise, that\'s your call...  But statistically, they\'ve both been played 25 times as an encore, so it\'s a toss up.  As for Tweeprize, it\'s been an encore 99 times, so I\'m pretty sure that was a well placed song...  And for those that say it\'s only played as an encore, sorry:

1st Set - 14 times
Set Opener - 2 times
Middle of set - 3 times
Set Closer - 9 times

2nd Set - 75 times
Set Opener - 1 time
Middle of set - 6 times
Set Closer - 68 times

3rd Set - 3 times
Set Opener - 0 times
Middle of set - 1 time
Set Closer - 2 times

Bottom line is that I guess you don\'t like Suzy...

On the topic of the best phish sitins, JIGGA was by far my favorite.  That was just sick.

i thought that phish\'s sets were overall very underwhelming.

thanks to my keen ear, we caught most of phish\'s soundcheck on thursday afternoon. i think i enjoyed that more than their actual shows at the roo.

my weekend highlight was the mars volta.

RV is a must if i ever do this again. heat + 6am drinking after 2 days of no sleep is not a good combo.

bruce arrived via helicopter at 8pm before his set saturday night. they closed down a good portion of the surrounding area in order for that to happen. i\'m sure he didn\'t want to be bothered with crowds of people at the very end of the festival.

couldn\'t have asked for a better roo crew. love you guys. had an amazing time, despite feeling like death through most of it.

Completely agree.  While I have never been to \'Roo, I have heard many horror stories about the heat and rain.  THis is my new philosophy for any festival I choose to do from here on out (maybe with the exception of a Phish fest).  The plan this year was to do Camp Bisco in a RV (which is very reasonable when split between 6-8 people).  Things fell through financially after Phish announced their tour, but this is the gameplan for next year\'s Camp (even though this year\'s hasn\'t happened yet).

As much as I love festivals, after 2 or 3 nights of drinking, party favors, and uncomfortable sleeping (not to mention the weather/heat/rain), the last day you are barely able to stand...and you are completely dead to the world for the 1 or 2 days after the festival.  I can only imagine what it would be like to be able to sleep past 9am when the sun normally would come in your tent, or be able to drink a beer in the comfort of the AC inside an RV.

This is a big reason I will only be doing Saturday Camp Bisco this year and not the whole weekend.

You shall, in due time. Dave has before and after pics, and I\'m pretty sure Marielle (my \'stylist\') has before/during/after. My only regret is that I got the Phish is sound checking text from Dave while getting it done.

The last few Phish festivals I attended were in RV style and I vowed way back then to never be a normie and drive my own vehicle there. It is a different style, completely different experience.

Hood closer = always proper

Best comment from Jambase so far:
"The only thing that Bruce Springsteen is the boss of is su@kin Di%k."

Not that I bothered to listen to this set yet and therefore have no opinion... I just enjoyed that particular syntax.

How about this from jambase...  There were just as many positive posts as negative posts, so get off it...

Ok first of all....in an interview with Trey from the 90s he said that the greatest musical performance he ever saw was Bruce performing Rosalita in Jersey. Bruce is 60 and tours consistently playing 3 hour shows night after night. In his prime he was often playing 7 hour shows. Listen to versions of Kitty\'s Back in Town, there\'s some rediculous 30 min. jams. Sure he has his share of stuff thats not the greatest and I think his Bonnaroo set was weak and he missed an opportunity to play some of his more jam oriented songs, but he\'s still one of the greatest musicians of all time and he\'s constantly trying new things. His seeger sessions band was a 15 piece jug band and was awesome and his 3 acoustic albums are some of the best songwriting you\'ll ever hear. You gotta respect the boss, and if you dig a little past his mainstream hits, there\'s some incredible music. Keep an open mind kids, sure Phish is great, but there\'s alot of great music out there that inspired what you\'re listening to, and the boss is one of trey\'s biggest influences.
