HELPING HANDS: A BENEFIT FOR MATT MIKLUSFor almost twenty years, Shelton resident Matt Miklus has been enriching his community through music. On Saturday, December 6th, community members will use music to give a little back.
Friends and family are accepting donations and sponsors for Helping Hands, a benefit concert for 36 year old Matt Miklus, who severed four fingers in an accident while working on his house in September. Having 3½ of the four fingers reattached after two surgeries, Matt hopes to regain the use of those fingers after intensive physical therapy.
Miklus is a Shelton resident who has been teaching guitar in the Valley for ten years. He has, along with his original rock band Hubinger Street, organized and performed at fund raisers for the Shelton Congregational Church, Hamden Mount Carmel Congregational Church, WPKN Radio, and the Connecticut Land Trust. He also annually organizes food and toy drives for the Spooner House, the Connecticut Food Bank and Toys for Tots.
Helping Hands, A Benefit for Matt Miklus will take place from 4pm to 12am Saturday December 6th at the AM Club in Derby and will feature live bands, raffles, food and drinks. Please join the community to raise funds for Miklus, wife Amanda, and step-son Kiel. Tickets are $30 each.
