You guys speak so highly of these guys, but I turned off the show I downloaded after 1 song.  Can someone suggest a really good show so that I can give them another shot.

that was direct from their site, all I did was repost it.

the live in chicago cd/dvd is incredible. I highly recommend it. Also if you can find a copy, the live in montreal show is the shits. Funny I know two people who have it, both of whom said they\'d make me a copy...

don\'t start with live stuff. go with the albums...in this order:

1. chocolate and cheese
2. quebec
3. white pepper
4. 12 golden country greats

if you don\'t like the first half of chocolate and cheese, then just stop listening and don\'t waste your time with this band

I\'d say start with Quebec. Easier to digest and EPIC. I agree w/the others, and The Mollusk is a must.

I come from the same camp. Thought I overpaid for a ticket outside of a soldout Aragon... worth every fucking penny.

The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

im always down for some ween chat. these have been my favorite guys since high school.

i\'d start with white pepper and chocolate and cheese, then move to the mollusk. the tough thing about ween is you have to hear a lot of them to really understand them, and kinda get what they\'re all about.... what i love about them is there incredible song-writing and ability to nail every style and type of genre.

yoda pm me your address i\'ll send you a mix :)
and what CAN you do, when your world is invaded by a reggaejunkiejew?!?

that was 100% for me. Elisa\'s mix was what put me over the edge, because they\'re so diverse within each album, getting a cross section of all discs like that was crucial to my downfall.

That said, I wouldn\'t put quebec #2. Flame on, I know it\'s because I got them later, but Quebec and la cuccaracha are average for me. White pepper and mollusk are the two required discs imo, followed by 12 great country and then chocolate/cheese.

12 great country 3rd only because not everyone is into country and it\'s so different from everything else, although it\'s really a 3 way tie.

I\'m with zuke here. I think white pepper might just be my favorite ween album. Also, pure guava and godween are a little too punk sloppy for me. Still working my way through those ones.
