sharon jones and the dap kings are playing w/ the band during the halloween set.  that means they are totally going to play exile on main street.  4 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!  :banflip:

Is this Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings thing fact? If so that would be the dopest show ever.

As of now just a rumor. Update on jamtopia:

"Update: Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings @ F8? (October 24th @ 10:30 pm)

Here\'s a rumor that, if true, has been of the better kept secrets of this whole affair.

As posted in this comment, word is Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings will join Phish for the musical costume at Festival 8.

The video at right should give you a good idea of Ms. Jones\'s superb vocals and the Dap-Kings funk / soul musical stylings.

No complaints from this guy if this is legit, which I believe it be. Especially if it means an Exile on Main Street (or Let it Bleed) costume."

Seems a stretch, but that would be fucking sick.

And excuse me for my ignorance, but what\'s the connection between Jones & The Daps to Exile and Let It Bleed?

What\'s funny is that their next show listed is at Higher Ground in mid-November. This all seems so fucking random.

You\'re excused. Exile has some horns and back-up singers.
I really hope Exile is not the album though out of the rumored last 8 it\'s like 7th of the ones I would want to hear

Gotchya. If the Dap Kings are there, I\'m all for the Stones shit. Fuck it, it\'d be cool. If not, Apostrophe gets my blessing.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

At this point, anything less than The Wall will be a dissapointment.

so what albums do you consider more than the wall?

besides the obvious ELL.

also chicago\'s transit authority is riddled w/ horns, so the dap kings might add to that as well.

Is there anyone else that thinks this whole killing the albums thing is a massive hoax and just like how the re-added Cali on the map at the end, that there maybe something random that happens at the end?  Wasn\'t there 99 albums to start? Kind of a weird number, why not 100? Maybe they kill them all off then reveal #100 as the murder.  It\'s defintely not past them to fuck with peoples heads and completely mislead them until the very end of it.  Also, I heard/read somewhere 3 days into rehearsing they had decided to change what album they were doing anyway!  It\'s all about mystery and keeping people guessing with them...

It\'s possible, but all the albums you\'d want to hear them cover are on that list.  I personally don\'t think that they\'re messing around on this one...

Would you really say ALL of the albums you\'ve ever wanted hear them cover? There\'s not even any one other one that you\'ve ever thought of?  I\'m just saying, I know its a bit of a conspiracy theory but hey... I wouldnt put anything past them.

That\'s a bit of a loaded questions.  Of course there are albums that I\'d like to see them cover (Sgt. Peppers, Derek & the Dominoes, Joe\'s Garage, Wish You Were Here, 2112, Tommy), but the reality, this is a hodge podge of a wishlist... I just don\'t think that they\'d use the same trick twice for the same festival...  I wouldn\'t put it past them either...  On a side note, no killed albums so far today...
