Rumor has it 2 more orchestral Trey shows are in the works for Philly & Boston possibly, no confirmed dates yet though...

Then I will def. be at the boston one.

I have slowly come to the conclusion that orchestrated music really is the place to go with pushing "natrual" music. Obviously you can do more with computers and machines, but that\'s totally different. As such, I am always seeking out new and different orchestral arrangements and/or composuers who make them.

I ripped on John Williams earlier not because I don\'t like his musc - I do. I think he is great at making music that everyone can ejoy and relate to, and there is beauty, art, and joy in that. However I don\'t consider what he does "pioneering" in any way. I haven\'t listen to trey\'s orchestral peices (just started the NY show - thanks, jking!) so I can\'t really judge.

If anyone can recomend to me composers that are out there and prolific today...

I heard some modern classical music a few months ago that was a total mindfuck. Wish I had any clue what it was. Like Mozart meets Shpongle style!

Are there policies at the venues against taping the orchestral shows?

yes. also the orchestra\'s policy is no taping, so trey abides...

as for \'modern\' classical, if you haven\'t checked out Arnold Schoenberg  yet, you definitely should! crazy stuff right there. i mean, dude was a teacher of john cage\'s, so you know he\'s a little nutty. i also used to live above a music professor who had studied under him. she was the most punk rock yet snobby old lady i\'ve ever met!!

That is such a damn shame... do you think the shows are being recorded by his sound guys at all for the archives?

Leonard Bernstein, Shostakovitch, Rachmaninoff, Vivaldi, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Orff, Quantz, Moussorgsky, Holst, Dvorak, Copland, Bizet, Berlioz, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven...  those are all the ones I have in my iTunes... I know they are more "classic" classical but they are the roots of whats happening today...Hope that helps get you started.

My sources and inside informants never let me down. This is the most recent tour date listing.

Fits with all the rumored dates that are suppose to be added to jking\'s post.
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.

It is good to know the right people.

Maybe, I will introduce you to them sometime but for some reason my mind draws a blank when I try to think of who you are. I don\'t even think I know who you are.

that \'informants\' list is COMPLETELY bunk.  one of those dates is during a hockey game, one is on thanksgiving, and there\'s a LOT of empty friday nights.

we debunked it a few days ago. we think it\'s a rumor photo from PT from last year cause the dates match up better.

and, hi everyone :)
