From phish.com.....

"What is the security going to be like there?  Event staff including trained, professional security, mounted (horse) patrols and Indio police will be present in and around the grounds for the entire duration of the event. Do not offer apples or sugar cubes to any law enforcement official, equine or human."

lol

So how much dough do you think it would be worth dropping on this?

3.0 is pretty weak so far but there is nothing like a phish fest and the good weather, 8 sets, and halloween factors really add a lot of potential.

thoughts?

flights are only 250 from me + 250 for ticket + 100 a day for expenses....could be a well spent 800-1000 bucks

Seems like the security is going to be hard-core...through car and personal searches entering the grounds?

will this be the first clean phish-fest?

they searched right to the bottom of the cooler last time i was there....they had people opening there wallets, sun glass cases you name...just short of taking off your shoes....they also have helicopters at night to keep down the noise level...its pretty no joke and i think that is becuase it is in a neighborhood and a swank one at that...
maybe the sun will shine today...
the clouds will roll away..
maybe i wont be so afraid..
i will understand that everything has its plan...
either way...

what do you want them to say?

"Very light pat down and minimal search.  We\'re not going to search very thorough so we are on the honor system here.  No tanks or handguns please"

There will be just as much party favors as any other phish fest...maybe less because there will be a lot of east coast heads traveling on planes.

I think there will be more security hassles than your average phish festival (almost none) but at some point it would too much of a hassle or simply impossible for the cops to arrest every person trying to bring something illegal into that festival.  Maybe they will just throw it all out/keep it.

Still there will be a ton of K/pharmies there being so close to mexico and lots and lots of really good pot and L being cali.

Anyone worried about security due to past fests here I remind you this is a Phish Festival and they will take care of security appropriatly.
Coachella and Stagecoach are far more mainstream and thus security sucks as normal people letting loose gets out of control a lot faster than the Phish demographic.
Normal folk just can\'t handle their shit.

Oh and I\'m fucking stoked for Phish Halloween btw!!!!!
