wasn\'t tela played at the fox?

so my 4 day run is over and was much enjoyed!!  favorite night for me was night one of alpine- the playing was hot and a prime setlist too

Gordo- how did you not like 2nd set of last night?  the crosseyed and painless opener 2nd set was probably the highlight of my weekend- alpine valley absolutely EXPLODED!!!  and the piper finally had real improv- the kind of shit where they totally break down the song and are playing of each others nonsense (think alo tweezer)
taints rule, gypsies drool!

Could someone please sendspace or re-mega this show? I have Creek and Alpine 2 but this load link has been removed. Thanks!

Listening to Alpine 2 first set is giving me the chills. Thanks to my friend *****, this was extremely memorable. I was off my rocker in the best way. First time I\'ve done something hard in years (3 or 4?) and it was certainly the right choice. A great close to a weekend of herb & booze.

I felt our crew played the transitions well and every show was special because of it. We never crossed the line (though could see it) and Phish spanked us sweetly with six great sets. I still haven\'t shed the feeling from the weekend. Nothing compares to being a lawn boy at a Phish show, especially when they\'re hitting those notes that shaped my teens.

Honestly, I exaggerated a bit when I said it was generally boring. Wading and Slave just killed the whole set for me, all because of my personal state. I thought Slave was uninspired and I was jonesin for another dance groove. So really it was just where I was, and I\'m sure a listen back will yield a different opinion. If it was up to me I would\'ve inserted a 26 minute 2001> Boogie> 2001 in place of what happened. Crosseyed was fucking sick, and for some reason DWD didn\'t stick with me like I feel it should have.

I can\'t get the Deer Creek file to work either. winrar loaded unsuccesfully, ubuntu didn\'t work out, and I was able to download EZ zip but for some reason the file won\'t open after I go through the steps. I\'m a joke with this shit. Any more help would be appreciated. I know I\'m getting annoying.

The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

i\'m hearing a bunch of folks talking up the polo grounds where coachella is held as a site for halloween. haven\'t heard any official confirmations, though....

i have been there and it is really nice...however...you can not camp by your car...which is a pain and they bring out the helicopters and the spot lights when it gets too loud at the campground....
maybe the sun will shine today...
the clouds will roll away..
maybe i wont be so afraid..
i will understand that everything has its plan...
either way...

question:  why hasnt phish played a really epic version of harry hood since 1997, and not even a really half-way decent version since the first hiatus?

this used to be my favorite song, but now i dont even want to hear it at a show.

because they changed the ending from a triumphant final peak to a meandering trail-off.

Rolling Stone’s David Fricke recently spoke with the reunited Phish to get the story behind the Vermont quartet’s comeback album, which RS can exclusively report will be titled Joy.

Three weeks after their triumphant three-night reunion concerts at Virginia’s Hampton Coliseum in March, the band and producer Steve Lillywhite spent three weeks in New York’s Chung King Studios, mapping out the 10-song album and recording all the basic tracks live in the studio. Joy “feels more like a live record than a lot of our live records,” guitarist Trey Anastasio tells RS.

Many of Joy’s songs have already become live staples on Phish’s reunion trek, and they unleashed new gems during both of their headlining Bonnaroo sets. Fans are already connecting to the Lynyrd Skynyrd-flavored “Kill Devil Falls,” “Stealing Time From the Faulty Line” and the epic 13-minute closer “Time Moves Elastic,” which the band released as a digital download in May. According to Anastasio, “Time” took 278 takes to get the song right, as Lillywhite forced the band to nail down all 15 sections of Anastasio’s prog-rock closer. “I wanted every member to play every section perfectly,” Lillywhite said.

Lyrically, much of Joy draws from Anastasio’s struggles with drugs and his return from a 2006 arrest for possession. The album’s title track was written when Anastasio’s sister was fighting cancer earlier this year (she died in April). Still, Trey insists that the title’s message “is affirming with a dose of reality.” For much more on Joy, which Lillywhite calls “the best Phish album ever,” be sure to check out Fricke’s full report from the studio in the new issue of Rolling Stone, on stands now.

2003-02-12 is a nice version. I thought so but didn\'t want to act on bad memory so I just listened to it. Confirmed, yeah, good stuff.

I also really enjoyed the version from Mansfield 2009 ... listen to the jam starting around 9:20 minute mark if you need instant proof. At 11:00 minutes or so Trey just starts throwin notes in 360 degrees. Well, he stepped on the Boomerang anyway ;) Some of his more creative and tasteful improvisational guitar work in recent years.
