Anyone else think that the 2 bonnaroo shows were going to be bust outs or a marshall sighting?  Last night\'s show had some bust outs, but nothing crazy (imho)...  Am I the only one that saw it like this or are there more among us?

The set lists that Phish has constructed have been great. In the early to mid 90\'s Trey after a show would spend hours working on set lists and writing bridges for the songs he wanted to jam together. Those were the best years of Phish.

The same attitude appears to be showing now. Every show has had some song "bust out" and there are still songs that we are waiting to hear.

I would not be surprised to see some ser bust outs, guest appearance or something.

haha yes Los Lobos and Talking Heads

Difference between "Also Sprach" and "2001" is that 2001 is essentially a reworked version of Also Sprach Zarathustra for the respective movie. In terms of which version Phish plays it really doesn\'t matter because obviously they are deviating quite a bit from either of the original scores.

My head nearly exploded when I learned about When The Circus Comes To Town being a cover.

YaMar is a cover as well that blew my mind when I first learned it was a cover.

same here with circus, still in shock it\'s a los lobos song.

2001 and ya mar might be my fav. covers, with boogie right behind.

I thought this thread was about the Phish tour??

Me too.. Phish tour involves more than music ....

It involves more than music??  Last time i checked, i went to shows for the music.  Any show, phish or whatever i am seeing.   I am there for the music.  If you are there for other things, then in my opinion, you are missing out.

I agree that music is the primary part reason to go to Phish. I also believe that Phish is so much more than just the 4 guys on the stage playing their songs. They know it too.

Phish is a community. It is a sport. It is an escape. It is a way of life. It is an experience.

The lot, the people you meet is a huge part of what makes Phish, PHISH!

Going to Phish is not like going to any other concert, IMHO. I have never seen any band put on a show as enjoyable as Phish.

I definitely agree that the people, the scene, the energy add to the experience...however i think he was trying to imply, that i was arguing,  that you need "substances" at a show to enjoy the whole experience and having people trying to take those away from you damper the scene.

Whatever happens on the lots, in my opinion, should not change the outcome of the show inside the venue.   Lots could have a riot, people getting arrested, but if that show is the most amazing show ever, that will not take away from it.  The music is the music.   Everything on the lots is extra.  its fluff.  its manufactured fun in what our society/the scene wants you to believe you should be doing to have a good time.

In the end, your show experience is what you make it.   We each probably have our own thing we like to do.  I just hate that i am told by someone who has never met me, that i\'m not a real fan and i can\'t enjoy myself because who i am marrying.    I didn\'t know it was a crime to love phish, love music, and love a narc.

Damn well said Spaceman.

Then again I miss 90% of shows due to passing out with a needle in my arm and then, upon regaining consciousness, hiding from Skye\'s husband. Maybe I really do need to re-evaluate the reasons I go to a helluvalotta shows.

By the way I\'m not a kid anymore. I don\'t need more than a Starbucks Double Shot Espresso and good company to enjoy shows.

But to each his own is fair indeed.

And no... enjoying Phish, going to shows, and marrying a narc is obviously not a crime. Just highly fucking unusual in a way that would make 95% of fans probably uncomfortable hanging around you. I could be clean and sober for the last 10 years and still consider a narc to be among the lowest of professions. At least ambulance chasers don\'t have to hide their identity...

Phish reworks Quinn well. Roses are free is also a fun one.

Phish covers are great... they are songs from bands you rarely hear, and Phish makes them their own
