Ten days until Phish plays Fenway Park. Baseball and the band collide.
To get you in the mood, here’s a list of Red Sox player nicknames - each based on a Phish song or cover - inspired by acquaintance TJ Morton, who sent the original roster in an early morning email hours after the Red Sox won the 2004 World Series. It worked because, when you think of it, there are few more passionate fan bases than Red Sox and Phish followers. And now, thanks to the tour opener at Fenway Park, it has a bit more relevance.
The names have evolved since the original conception, and some are certainly better than others. But if you can do better than the likes of ChalkDustin Pedroia, well, we’d like to see you try.
