Sorry Chip, that was my first thought too, but it\'s not going to happen. I mentioned doing it to tim and Ellis a while ago. Ellis shot it down as projectors interfere with his lighting design. He gave a green light for whatever I want to do during set break but absolutely no projectors during the set. Out with the "save says no", in with the "upstate says no"

They\'ll pull it off for sure, but those who don\'t really know the band are probably going to laugh at this event.

"The Breakfast Performs Cartoons"

Sounds pretty cheesy and childish from an outsider\'s perspective imo.

They should just play all of Fantasia with a PROJECTOR behind them. Weak sauce on the "no projector" biz too, nothing like UN-enhancing possibilities. Why can\'t somebody set up a couple of average size screens on each side of the stage hooked up to a computer or something?
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

Yeah I can\'t really say any of the FF pre-announced "themes" have really got me more excited for the show....

except the Lawn Boy rumor, I was stoked for that...

But, really its the Breakfast, whatever they do is gonna be sick, and its halloween and its my home town. As long as they play something that resembles a Breakfast show I\'ll be psyched.

Well this choice of themes is certainly right on par with the decision to split the run up and play oberlin on halloween night.

No way I am going to drive 10+ hours round trip to burlington and drop several hundred bucks or miss class on friday morning after noho to hear them play scooby dooby doo, where are you and flinstones, meet the flinstones. Get Real.

I think this is a good theme! Although I agree it would be sweet with the screens, it also may be a little restricting for the band.  Keeping them within the structure of the video.

Here are my suggestions for songs:

whateva..i\'m psyched! i don\'t care what ellis says, they should definitely use a projector. i love the fantasia idea. shit could get pretty nasty during the mop scene... one of you video geeks can put together some kind of crazy classic cartoon montage, right??

klout-i\'ve never dressed up for any of the freakouts according to the themes. in fact, i honestly really didn\'t like the 3 as a magic number at first. i\'ve also never seen any star wars movies (completely by choice) and didn\'t dress up all nerdy like a lot of people did. um last year i was blanche. do your own thing if you\'re not down with the cartoons, but don\'t bail just because of the theme broseph. this is gonna be fun.

now i just wish i didn\'t already go as wonder woman. :banghead:

I think it will be a fun time for the people who actually show up. we all have our personal favorite cartoon songs that would be kinda neat to hear...but I really do not see this theme as motivating many people to drive all the way up to burlington the day after halloween (especially after already have done it at noho), myself included, and probably the same deal for the 20 people I brought up there last year, and who knows how many other out of towners and locals alike.

A theme of Sick breakfast songs and sick breakfast jams or queeb saga or a cooler gimmick or even a great cover album  would have motivated me to make the journey or miss class...

but this cartoonage shit is for the birds
