so if we\'re talking about bands as undercover as phish, we should mention (and i am not tryinbg to be an ass, just simply trying to guide as i have been guided):
the grateful dead (i recommend any show in \'69-\'74 or \'77 to start with)
you should check out the beatles (not the "1" album) i\'d recommend Sgt Pepper, REvolver, Magical Mystery, White Album, Abbey Road
Rolling Stones: Exile on Main St, Sticky Fingers, Let it Bleed, Beggars Banquet
Frank Zappa: Were Only in it for the Money, Roxy and Elsewhere, Grand Wazoo, Waka Jawaka, Chungas Revenge, JUst Another Band From LA
Jimi Hendrix: Are you Experienced, Electric Ladyland, Axis Bold as Love
Derek and the Dominos: Layla and Other Love Songs (great, great album)
then go get greatest hits albums by:
Creeedence Clearwater Revival, Jethro Tull, Cream, James Gang
Boyz II Men: II (you may already own this, if you\'re really cool)
if you\'ve never heard Sublime, get 40 Oz to Freedom and Robbin the Hood
